How fast is it possible to download from Valve servers? (cap)

Just wondering what max speed for d/l'ing games over Steam is. I just upgraded from "8M" service to "50M" service download speed, and while the line seems to be operating otherwise fine at up to 50M, I cant even get above 4M download from the Steam server in my same city right now. I'm hoping that is just because of the Summer Sale traffic though.

What is the max speed you guys have been able to d/l games from Steam's servers?

Well, I think your speed seems fine. If you buy internet it's normale in Mb. I'm pretty sure Steam uses MB.

8Mb = 1MB so I think your speed should be around 6MB (50/8)

Hmm... should be a bit higher though

+1 3xx,xxx,xxxGB/s i was like nice finally steam upgraded their servers and them boom 25kb/s

I regularly cap myself at my internet package maximum, 120 Mbps, so Steam definitely can do even more. I think they will handle the 250 Mbps package I plan to get.

3.6MB/s for me. Haven't seen it go higher than that.

I don´t think that there is any cap, but we all know that steam servers don´t have many reserves.So sometimes i have not problems using my full DL (150mbit) sometimes i get just a half or third of it from steam, while i don´t have problems with other services.
