So my cat decided to bite through my headset cord and I need some advice on a new one. Problem is, I have a small head, and a lot of headsets Ive tried today dont fit my head, or the ear cups are too large. Example - Razer Kraken was too big for my head, and the Roccat Kave's ear cups were too large. My last headset was a Sades 708, but the current reviews for those arent very good (was a Chinese off-brand anyway) so Id rather avoid if I can.

Any help?

(Sorry no giveaway. Wasnt expecting to need to buy a new headset and its going to cut me a little short on cash right now >.<)

She bit into it where the cord connects to the plug part. The one speaker was beginning to crackle anyway, so Id rather just get a new one than keep trying to fix this one, just wasnt expecting to have to get one so soon.

I've been using one of their gaming headsets for more than a year now. Their mic quality is decent. They have lightweight headsets here. H800 and H600 are okay.
I used the G430 for one of the karaoke contests here, if you want to know what the mic sounds like. I also currently use a separate Samson Go Mic + Sennheiser earphones. I used Samson for the second contest here if you want to compare. Obviously it has better mic quality than a headset.

Thanks! And yea I think Im going to start looking a bit more into clip on mics. Just a quick check on Amazon it looks like it may be cheaper buying a mic + earphones than buying an actual headset.

I agree with you. I think that's the best way to go. A good combo of a microphone and earphones/headphones usually delivers the most optimum quality. There's a reason why most, if not all, good youtubers don't really use headsets to stream. You might lose a little mobility and lack of clutter, but if you're okay with that, I say go for it. ^-^

I have the opposite problem - I have a massive cranium and many headphones/headsets are too small.

I would suggest looking into standalone desktop or clip-on microphones. That way you can use any smaller headphones you can find, or even earbuds.

Clip on mic is a good suggestion though. I might look into some of those too

what do you mean too big, at their smallest compressed size they still dangle below your ear?

the best audio quality is circumaural, as in, surrounding your ear, not laying on the ear

a microphone severely limits your choices, i would clip on as the other user mentioned or use one that sticks out from the desk

(well technically any can be resized.. just break the headband, it's just 2 ear sized speakers & 1-3 cables, ghetto & voids warranty though)

edit: what is the budget?

Anything under 100$, and yes that is what I meant by too big. Sorry if I wasnt too clear on that part

SteelSeries Flux Headset

The microphone is built into the cord which is kind of weird in my opinion but the earcups are smaller then the krakens/708s.

Most headsets have around the ear or over the ear cups, so as the other person suggseted a pair of headphones + seperate mic might be a good option it's actually what I do and I prefer it since headphones have better build quality then headsets.
