Come to think of it, the points cap should be reduced for those who haven't ever contributed, and increased for those who contributed a lot.
Still, I'm happily surprised that the whole system works fine as of now without all that many incentives to make giveaways. Maybe I come here more for the faith SG gives me in humanity rather than for free games.
...nyah, I mostly come for free games.

Lets not talk as if everybody's like them please... There's also correct ppl.. If you gift for the joy of giving you don't go searching only ppl who deserves, you don't think about this at all.. If then you find someone who had a bad actitude you simply report him and blacklist him.

Why...? Some people start out like that and then they might feel like it's time to give something back after winning a couple. That's how I felt and that's why I started giving things away. Starting with bundle stuff then moving on to some non-bundle games. If EVERYONE made contrib only giveaways how would new people find their way into the community at all?

Well, if someone made giveaways solely for farming CV I would laugh at them.

My friends look at me and said "Why didn't you give them to me? I could've traded those keys/gifts away for games I wanted!"
Pshh...like I'm ever giving you anything ever again with that attitude...=.=

Same here. My friends and I managed to turn more than 100 pirates to Steam (some of them are not buying games for themselves, but also giving them away here now), in the last two years alone. That does not sound like much, but if you lived in a country where piracy was considered normal and buying something as elusive and virtual as games - crazy, you would know that is a lot.

+1, I feel exactly the same. Some of my friends laugh, when I buy games with single-player only. But I don't care about that, you get new updates n' stuff, much better than pirating.

this... I often get the 'looks' when I refuse to torrent a game, that I cannot afford at the moment. If you aren't willing to pay (both literally and figuratively, sacrifice) for it, you don't need it that much.
And you want me to tell them I do it for others... effin' nope!

Sadly, years back, I couldn't afford anything myself and did some heavy torrenting. And although the financial situation in my country is as dim as ever, I now somehow manage lead a better life and give back as much as I can (if that can pass as redemption at all).

Thats why i write "w większości" (in many) - because there are examples of goods Polish who give some games here ( like me :P ) But today i was saw a example of my earilest opinion, when someone make a private giveaway here and post link on his blog, someone said thats too high requirement to register here (he said that 100$ is too high price) and wanted from owner to change this site to other random system... And thats right there is not only in Poland about greeding.

Ignore them, there's a certain awesome feeling associated with giving away stuff as well :V

You can only tell certain people about certain things; you know, some things are meant to be hidden. It's the way of the ninja!

my family wouldn't be happy to know that i have spent a good amount on SG if i told them , since we're having a bit of financial trouble ourselves. Even if we don't, the idea of giving free stuffs to strangers on the internet doesn't sound good to them anyway.

Most of ppl is this way sadly... I'd feel offended too if I was in such situation, but I haven't friends so I won't experience that... The only one I tolk about is a virtual friend, and he liked a lot the idea, he might even be joining and add GA himself, because he likes to do something good for ppl...

Let me guess that those same friends are selfish or greedy with other things as well?
Seems like you have a good chance at being the best of your bunch. It's clear that being selflessly generous isn't exactly common in humanity. Cheers to you.

Recently I told my friends about Steam Gifts. Everything was cool until I started sending them links to my giveaways. In school they were like: "LOLS why do you buy games and put them on that site hahaha", "You're wasting your money idiot". I'm not angry or anything. You know how friends act to friends. They're friends.
Have you ever experienced something like this?
The funny thing is, that one who laughed at me the most won 3 giveaways on about 200 entries. He didn't make a single giveaway. Lucky bastard.
Giveaways:
Adventures of Shuggy $0.01
Skyrim? $1.01
edit9: Third, big giveaway starts in few hours. I also cleared my post a bit :)
