Don't you know that Russians are helping? And other EU countries are helping too.

very bad catastrophe, but i cant help and even if i could, i wouldn't help..no offense and good luck.
Comment has been collapsed.
Out of curiosity, why would you not help if you could?

Hateful comments are not allowed, and he was obviously showing hate for no reason.
Do you honestly think there is nothing wrong with saying "even if i could, i wouldn't help.." in a case like this? He could have just left the topic without a reply.
Comment has been collapsed.
that doesnt mean it was a hateful or mean comment. he didnt say anything exactly wrong, him getting suspended for saying something so small and insignificant seems rather harsh.
lots of ppl can do something but choose not to. doesnt mean they are disgusting or hateful or rude people...there are plenty of billionairs in the world who can and could help anyone they wanted. but they dont... its their life and opinions and choices

If he chose not to do anything, he wouldn't be suspended now would he? He had to go that extra mile and leave a rude comment for no reason at all. Everyone before you and XenoLair thought that it was a highly inappropriate and scummy thing to say, and I'm very glad that the mods did too.

me neither, at the first read. but then i read it again, and yes the 'even if i could i wouldnt help' part wasnt really needed. Sure if you dont give a #(($# about it, it would be easier just to ignore the topic,no? So yes, it was misplaced comment, imo.

"even if i could, i wouldn't help..no offense"
I honestly can't understand how anyone would not take that as an intentionally rude comment. :|
The no offense at the end was him being lazy to use the backspace button, instead he added a stupid saying which always comes after an insult and just makes people even more mad.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm pretty sure the "wouldn't" part qualifies as a hateful comment, but I'm also sure the comment wasn't "without reason."

Here's what Humble bundle thinks of that idea...

Hi Dooleh,
Thanks very much for your message!
We appreciate the suggestion! We’re definitely keeping track of all of the suggestions and ideas sent our way as we look to improve and expand on the new store as well as to come up with great new bundles.
Please keep in mind that we do receive quite a bit of feedback, and we can’t necessarily keep people updated on the status of specific suggestions. Rest assured that I’ll get this over to the team for review!
Thank you again! Have a great day.

"people with no electricity, food or drinkable water" like my city
Comment has been collapsed.
They're not asking for you to stand in front of a tsunami and block it with the force of your mind. They're asking for food, water, medicine, to deal with the aftermath of a natural disaster. If your opinion is "shit happens, why bother helping?" I don't understand how you get through life at all.

There are floods into my country almost every year, no other countries care, no one donates, we take care of ourselfs, we do not beg for help, still people are calling us gypsies, well most of the idiots do. (Guess that saying in the end "no offence" will absolve you from any "bad" criticism)

I've been collecting money this weekend and I wired it to someone I know and trust in Serbia who's buying some things and donating them to the cause. She got stuck in Novi Sad trying to travel to her home in Sabac last week. Her frustration that she was stuck without money wasn't that she couldn't look after herself, but that she had none to get help to others. Her family is volunteering and all still safe, thankfully.
I hope everyone in any trouble finds some help they need.

what lesson it was a flood not a dam collapse right? what would you do to stop it other than digging huge drain systems and drywells on the off chance of some freak rainstorm(3 months of rain all at once isn't normal right?)
although i guess evacuation alerts could be improved (and a storm like that seems like should have been detected even if probably underestimated if it was but still) only lesson i can think of is "don't piss off veles" which doesn't seem useful

You could say the same about many countries and many peoples.

Everyone who think that "shit happens, there are natural disasters all over the world" just don't get a point that it was unexpected. People from Iceland won't need help if one of the volcanoes would erupt because they know exactly when it'll be and prepare for it. Just help these people if you can and don't do anything (including sarcastic comments) if you don't bother.

Actually, while what you are saying makes sense, you probably have no idea that the water level has risen by 9+ meters in some places and there is no way to fight that, the flood isn't only affecting a small area near the river bed, the affected area is far larger.
edit: look at the first picture posted by MegaGiga a few posts below.

personally i don't support those direct donation appeals to regular citizens. I mean it's not that i don't pity victims of a natural disaster, but it makes me uncomfortable that more and more of those appeals are made with the intention of shoving the misery straight into your face to make you feel bad so that you donate money to feel better. During the last decade a part of this custom even developed into a fraudulent scamming buisness, where people from eastern-europe suddenly knock on your door and want you to donate money because some ominous flood destroyed their entire village or something like that. Then they keep on bugging you, showing you fake pictures with crying kids and destroyed housed until you give in and open your wallet. Had this already like 3-4x and each time it turned out to be a scam after a few weeks, when someone tried to verify their story.

i read somewhere its the worst flood... like, ever. Balkans area is hit by floods often, but this is just something thats much worse than 'normal' floods. Literally whole towns are under water/now mud, and like 50% of both countries are in mud now. 100.000's of people lost their homes, so yea this thing is rather ... big :/

the thing is though, that you don't have to feel bad for anything. that's a major thing to understand to get rid of all guilt. it's okay to just say "I don't care", if you don't. however, the main problem with this is that should you ever be in a problematic situation yourself, those people might not help you either.

This is quite true. in New Zealand we had some terrible earthquakes in Christchurch which killed many people and destroyed many homes. Soon after we had the same thing, people knocking on doors asking for donations to help those people who had lost everything, but they were just scammers wanting to line their own pockets. Scumbags. There are terrible things happening in Serbia though, so we should all do our part to help

Situation in Sremska Mitrovica. Sandbags held the water out so far, but other places weren't so lucky. Doboj in B&H was 6 meters under water yesterday.

Damn, Doboj is only 100 kilometers away from me. But we should be fine here, unless it starts raining again

Isn't it better to donate actual supplies like food, bandages, meds, etc?
I remember when the Philippines were flooded and they requested no money, only supplies since they can't buy anything when all the products in shops there were washed away by flooding.

Clothes are needed as well, Serbia's prime minister said that the most important thing needed is equipment for saving those that are affected, and our neighboring countries, and Russia acted very fast and are helping out however they can. The money will be needed to rebuild everyone's homes after the water levels drop again. And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Michael Schumacher alone donate 10 million dollars to the victims of the tsunami? I'm only asking because your comment makes it sound like my country is trying to earn money on this.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh well then I apologize, I misunderstood your first post.
I'm guessing that there would have to be an organized charity collection in your country in order for you to donate clothes and food or any physical donations really, I know there are such actions in some of our neighboring countries, but I really don't know the details.
