and if they were to make it from scratch like you're suggesting it would take another 5 yeqars and they would constantly get bashed for "how long can you be making a goddamn game" like all previous studios were for 10 years.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to defend gearbox, tell they're the good guys - will never forgive them the ACM fiasco - but given the situation they were in there was no good solution.

Unless you'll read what 3d Realms said about that - how Gearbox actually changed quite few things (like limiting game to 2 weapons).
All in all it would end as a disaster, but apparently, Gearbox really took their time to actually make it even bigger disaster then it would be...

I remember that I have read a few articles about ACM and this game was like a hot potato. It was tossed from one studio to another, that's why it ended up... well, we all know how it ended.

If they got the developer of the Shadow Warrior reboot involved (Flying Wild Hog) then I could see something great happening, though they're busy working on Shadow Warrior 2. Seriously, that game was everything Duke Nukem Forever should have been and more.

Maybe they'll settle their differences with Interceptor Media and get Bombshell tooled back into a Duke Nukem game ?
(Yep, that was first conceived as a Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction. Then Gearbox got all sue-happy about the Duke Nukem name and it got retooled into something about a bad-ass chick with a metal arm.)
Well, doubt that will happen, but their take on Rise of the Triad also makes them one of the better candidates to do a proper Duke Nukem game.

The last game was not as bad as people still cry about... Maybe i just I did not have unrealistically high expectation. :D But Aliens Colonial Marines was really bad game. :D

I didn't had high expectations. I wanted it to be as good as old Duke Nukem games. But it turned out to be a complete shit that I couldn't force myself to play even though I really love Duke Nukem games.
Level designs were pretty bad for the most part. Being able to only carry 2 weapons at a time sucked hard. I assume they wanted to make the game more realistic, but that's exactly what Duke Nukem was never about, realism.

I'm ok with that, I'm gonna buy it when it's cheap, did the same with DNF and Aliens and I enjoyed them both for what I paid.
