MotioninJoy worked wonders for me before I got an Xbox controller. It recognized every controller I had without any issue.

So is that a joystick emulator?that helps me re-bind all buttons and the game to recognize it as if it was Xbox 360 controller?me and a neighbour have Intex joysticks so will it be best ,most optimum program to emulate xbox controller?:D

It's the best one I've ever used. It's nice and simple also. You simply install it and have it scan for your controller, and the program can actually emulate a 360 controller so you don't even have to do any manual rebinding.

I always use this with my Logitech Dual Action. You have to copy the exe file to the game directory. Give it a try!
Just click on the filename to download.

JoyToKey is what I usually use. It used to be free, but it is Shareware now.

JoyToKey v3.7.x [free] - Last free version that I know of was 3.7.9 but 3.7.4 is more common and easier to find.
JoyToKey v5.x [shareware] - Current version is 5.4.2

Shameless self promotion, but here is my Guide for using JoyToKey for Sword of the Stars: The Pit from before it fully supported controllers. I actually still use this configuration over the controller support in game as of the last time I played. I haven't played in a while so I don't know how the new updates and the new DLC may have impacted usage though.

EDIT: to clarify, I am not in any way associated with the JoyToKey application. My guide link points to a guide on SteamCommunity that can be found by going through my profile or through the Steam pages for the game and browsing the user content.

So what is Shareware? And yeah advertising usually gets you a nice ban here xD but i guess not if it's "blank/point-blank" :)) like some tards do ,in topic's main posts lol. Some who advertise their shit in giveaways for example are meh, okay let's say xD and their let to continue . Not sure bout your advertising though, could be fine i guess + you apologised, that's somethin xD

EDIT: to clarify, I am in no way associated with the JoyToKey application.

Well, it isn't really advertising, just linked a guide from SteamCommunity on how to configure JoyToKey for that one game. You could also view it by going onto steam's website, clicking the game (or my profile) and searching for the guide.

Mine has been registered for quite a while so not sure what restrictions (don't think there are any) on the shareware version but not sure.
EDIT: for giggles deleted the license from my local copy and started it, appears to have no restrictions on usage even after having been installed for ages while still showing unregistered. Putting the key back now though as I hate when software thinks it is not registered.

Shareware from Wikipedia: "Shareware is usually offered either with certain features only available after the license is purchased, or as a full version but for a limited trial period of time. In this context, there is no difference between 'shareware' and a 'Free Trial' version of normal commercial software. Once the trial period has passed, the program may stop running until a license is purchased, or run with limitations such as quitting after a short elapsed time or the inability to save work. Shareware is often offered without supports or updates which only become available with the purchase of a license. The words "free trial" or "trial version" are indicative of shareware."

Download x360ce.App-2.1.2.191.zip - that's the .exe file. Then download x360ce_lib32_r789_VS2010.zip - this contains the library files. Extract both in the same folder and run the .exe to setup the buttons.

This is the x360ce forum, if you have any problems with installing the emulator - have a look at the sticky threads there. Also have in mind there are some problems with Dark Souls, so search for a Dark Souls topic.

If you have MSVCP110.dll missing, then you need to install http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679. Usualy it is installed when you download a game in steam, but an error may occur. Same happened to me 2 days ago when I was trying to setup my gamepad for Batman Arkham Asylum.

I don't think you need it. Google says it is something related to mobile/cellphone processors.

I tried messing with a few emulators to get my 'generic' gamepad to work with most PC games on steam,
it failed miserably after costing me many hours of frustration.
Eventually I gave up and bought an xbox 360 controller that plugs into my PC.
It supports everything without the hassle of emulators.
I think its worth the $40-$50 ish bucks in the long run.
