So, I won a giveaway that has somehow disappeared...

It was a public one for the 1C War Games Collection less than 24 hours ago. I logged in right now to see if I had received the gift and the giveaway has disappeared both from my "entered" list and my "Won" list.

Any ideas?

For one reason or another, the giveaway was deleted. It might have been fake or the creator might have made it by accident and had a mod delete it.

It must hae been a fake one. If it is the won I am thinking the guy who created it had about 10-20 entries when he created it and was a very recent user. He had also created 2 other giveaways, one being another 1c pack, and both winners had yet to confirm that they had received the gift. Furthermore he didn't own any of the games he was offering. Now these are just facts and don't prove that the giveaway was a fake but it does sound like it :P Sorry for the spoiled joy mate!

Don't forget you don't need to own the game (you need to buy it to gift it though... but not until the giveaway ends) to give it away.

Not owning the game is not a definite fake indicator...

Lots of people buy a cheap game on sale that they don;t like but others would.

For instance I gave away 2 games I didn't own but later bought one for myself because the winner said it was good.
