What a game yesterday! That's why I love football! England millionaires beaten by a country with the population of Leicester!
Fun fact: Icelands head coach is a part time dentist :-)
To celebrate this, here is a Level 4 giveaway about bravely fighting individuals :-)

Will Iceland beat France as well?

i have a huge respect for iceland! how they play with passion and how they play as a team. you dont need to be a super football player who earns millions. they showed that everyone who gives everything can do greater things than anyone else.

The meme is funy but so fucking incorrect. Like there are no women over 45 or uner 18, neither working, etc.

It takes out women first so off course it doesn't list them afterwards. I believe we can safely assume that out of the 165259 women there are those of all ages and doing all kinds of things.

what I mean is that in the 8781 fans in the stadium there are women, that have been taken out before, so they discount them twice in order to get the magic 23. Almost every group listed overlaps with many others, it's funny because it gets the 23 in the end, but its inmensely inaccurate.

Of course it is. But apparently it's not that far from reality. I've heard there are only about 100 professional players from Iceland ;-)

As Italian i was pretty sure about that result. Hodgson is pretty know in Italy for forced roberto carlos to play striker (International) as we all know that it was not his role(1.50cm), he forced him to change team and replaced it with a bad player. So it was obvious, England have decent players but a really bad coach.

It was fun to watch.
So much individual quality in the UK but they just didnt know how to play. You can blame the coach for that.
And Rooney was just terrible.

It could happen vs France as well. I havent been impressed by the Frenchies til now. Must say only Italy and Germany (and Belgium vs Hungary) impressed me at some points this tournament.

Its odd watching this when your own country isnt competing (Holland, yes we fucked up vs Iceland as well). I really dont care who wins which is actually quite pleasant.

Good luck all!

It's like an english newpaper said today: There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and mediocre England displays in major tournaments.

I think it was great, because Iceland was actually the better team. They had several chances to score the 3-1, including a great looking bicycle kick. This is how they celebrated with their fans after the game. Goosebumps!

A different reality from the one "money-dependent" we are so used to.. nice :')
Football really needs more teams with more heart than money!

It's almost as if paying people millions for kicking a ball around should mean that you are more selective with your players, why are english football players paid that much again?

either way i don't really watch football

There should be an "I don't give a potato" option in the poll. For those few like me (if there are any) that don't care about sports. Or outside world in general. I don't even know why are there so many football topics around lately. Is there a world cup going on or something?

Coming into the match I was a little concerned about the psychology of the English squad with their history of poor performances in major international competition. But then after the PK nicely taken by Rooney, I figured the nervousness would subside and English may walk away with a 3-nil winner. But then when Iceland answered minutes later, I was 1) amazed and 2) nervous again for England! And at 2-1 you could hear a country gasp, and the countdown of doom began. There was always that chance for a moment of English excellence, or a defensive breakdown, but it just never happened, and so the Armageddon Clock struck midnight. I usually root for England in soccer/football, unless they're playing one of my favorite teams, but in the end I must admit I was rooting for Iceland. Well, at least for England they didn't lose to Portugal...

As a strong supporter of France, I cannot root for Iceland's run to continue...though some of the same psychological factors are at play (a nervous team against a country with nothing to lose).

Well I have a sweet spot for France and I am an England supporter since many many disappointments years, but I kind of want Iceland to be the perfect Cinderella Story, the underdog in the finals would be splendid! But they will need to beat Germany or Italy to get there which seems far more difficult...

My heart will be torn on sunday, may the best team wins, not by the names of their shirts but by the size of their balls guts and the beauty of their game!
