I already have the game but something is not right about this promotion. I doubt it's the work of bots. It looks more like a screw up.

So it really was a screw up. Good to know. It all seemed too fishy for a bot attack like many were claiming.

Apparently it's another game with dead multiplayer, so i wonder if the free part wasn't a mistake, if not they could use an attempt to get more players (which rarely works).

Frostt isn't to blame. It's added by SG. You can turn it off here, if you like: https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/referrals

Let's have one minute silence to respect that five people who would have actually played the game and couldn't get a key.

I think smartphones have a part to play in this .

It's made it too easy to be notified and access giveaways quickly with a click of their thumbs.

Never get any of those keys either. shrug

Alienware has levels and GA are region restricted

If i recall, i was able to gather a key or two from ANZ and EU at some particular point in time though i just stick to ANZ now.

So maybe they should restrict keys to monthly subs?

How many dollars you spent this year? Or some other horseshit like special key pools for high levels?
Not sure how RR helps if someone is in a region that has high numbers of users on the site, guess it could be helpful if your region is one that has almost no users of the site active from there.

My point is, for those of us that aren't sitting right there waiting to get free stuff, you basically never get there in time. (at least I don't, but then, you know, work and commuting and all)

Think about it this way. If they say bots are overthrowing every human, they will continue to do so and they will become more sophisticated by the day that not even the average human would be able to score a key.

There is still a chance you could win one out of the many.

As far as the peeps behind the bots go, its all about money and bragging rights and if you check G2A, but don't worry, karma will bite them back.

Well... I guess they could make it to where no account that hadn't spent say $15 in the past year could get a key. that would damage the bots and help those that actually are their customers.

But who am I to interject actual logic? And when did they ever care about actual customer satisfaction? That little Kingdom Come stunt caused me to cancel my monthly (that I've had since 2016 or so)

Except the idea with a giveaway is also to draw new people to a site.
Kinda like how SG works.

...Hope it worked, they lost at least one primarily because of it. Though at this point I was holding on by a thread anyway.

I made sure to comment that was the main reason. (IF they even bother to read that stuff) <-- call me skeptical.

Course now I see they are revoking keys... are they TRYING to piss off everyone? Seems like it's working!

The problem, in my opinion, isn't Humble Bundle. It's that too many people get worked up over what basically amounts to nothing.

When something happens, I say to myself "if this is the worst thing that happens to me today, I'll be alright." It never fails to make me realize how trivial most "problems" really are, and spares me wasting time on things that aren't really worth being concerned about.

Well as far as the Kingdom Come stunt I find it pretty shitty towards their actual base. It's like something that the cable company or cell providers pull. And I'm that ONE guy that actually calls and tells them, "You know what? Screw You" They (just like little children) do it because no one punishes them. I'm sure it's been researched every which way, I just like to be one of those X% that actually act.

I'm not being overly dramatic or saying I'll never buy anything from HB again, I actually bought the Warhammer bundle this week. Will I get the monthly again? Maybe. Can I also live without it? I'm sure, I already have too much anyway.

Far as this freebie, I don't really care, again it would be nice if they could find a way to reward those that actually buy from them, but I'm not holding my breath given the latest examples.

I wasn't referring to you in particular. It was a general statement based on observation and being around SG for a while.

Personally speaking, while I was disappointed I was unable to get Kingdom Come for nothing, I also realized it wasn't worth getting bothered over, and this game even less so (much less, actually), and certainly not worth all the attention/hate (not sure if that's the most apt word for it) it's getting. Like you, I have games I can play while I wait, and I'm fairly patient. YMMV.

In case others don't get the email:

Dear Humble Store customer,

Recently, you were able to pick up a free key for Fractured Lands from the Humble Store. We're very sorry, but this was actually a mistake due to some technical problems on our end.

If you received a key while Fractured Lands was set at a 100% discount, you'll still be able to play the game until 1 p.m. Pacific time on Sunday, November 11, 2018. At that time, the key will be revoked and you'll no longer be able to access the game.

Fractured Lands will be on sale for 30% off from now until 10 a.m. PT on November 17, in case you would like to purchase it after all. We're very sorry that we weren't able to fulfill the 100% discount for you. Thank you for being the awesome customer that you are!

Best,

The Humble Store Team

Yup... even though you've got an email clarifying it was a mistake on Humble's part and this order will definitely NOT be fulfilled.

Of course mistakes can happen, but they really should revise their site not to keep generating these messages in your library when there are clearly issues! It makes them look bad for promising something and then backing out.

But the Key from HB seemed to be permanent, and as one of very few people, I would actually have wanted a key, because this looks like the exact take on Battle Royale that I was hoping for ._.

I didn't sufficiently check out the game until after I claimed it and was told there are no keys, so I found out it's yet another dead battle royale/multiplayer affair, that will be shoved free in our faces many times, go f2p, and finally die. So, I decided not to even check the key page again, because that's not something I'd want on my account.

So now I got a nice chuckle of the e-mail from Humble that the thing I don't want even for free is not actually free but do not despair! It will be 30% off!!!

thats my story thank u for rading

Yes, your right HB was great, but before IGN... now only actions like that, if you know the situation with Kingdom Come(the new costumers got a email for a bonus game Kingdom Come, than HB told it was a mistake)... i think there start to be too much mistakes and will be more for sure... just make the difference before IGN and after them... :)

if you know the situation with Kingdom Come(the new costumers got a email for a bonus game Kingdom Come, than HB told it was a mistake)

The 100+ hours I've clocked in KCD since I got it from Humble disagrees with it being a mistake.
The mistake they made was sending the mail to people already subscribed as it was only meant for attracting new subscribers, something they later honored by letting those who received the mail erroneously be part of the promotion too. Sadly, in the spirit of equality, they didn't let every subscriber in on the deal, since it's truly a great game.
