Are you scared of indie games?

View Results
[SKIP] N-n-n-n... n-n-nooo..n-nooo... I'm not s-s-s-scared at all, I just think these games s-s-s-suck
[TOO EXPENSIVE] My wallet is scared of that price!
[OWN] My library already has all the thrills and scares I need
[BUY] I need a good Mouthwashing after eating those Arctic Eggs at the Boba Teashop Kiosk... So Adios, I've reached my Threshold
[GROUP BUY] I'm going to play buckshot roulette with some strangers and hope I find a good deal

I like indie horror games so I already own 8/13 games in the bundle.

I heard Mouthwashing is good. Also the rest seems to be decently fun.

I own Mouthwashing and a few others, but happy to buy this bundle for the rest and give Mouthwashing to a friend. It's a really good bundle.

I had to check after seeing it was $1 since that would've been an unusual return to old times and a fantastic deal. Nope, missed a number there; it's actually $13.

Same. This would have been a steal. :)

BTW: It's 13.28€ in germany.

You are from germany, too?

I am, though my Steam and Humble accounts are set to Austria. Still doesn't make sense to me unless it's meant to be VAT. But according to the Order Summary, it's

Indie Fears Bundle €12.73
Subtotal €12.73
VAT €0.66
Total €13.39

which is about 5,18%. Austira has a VAT of 20%, Germany 19%. Doesn't really add up.

I just calculated it through. Humble shows the price with the austrian VAT included (20%). With german VAT (19%) it would be 13.28€, too. The base price is the same.

EDIT: It adds up:
13.28 / 1.19 = 11.16
11.16 * 1.2 = 13.39

EDIT 2: Maybe, it has something to do with the amount given to charity? Maybe, this amount is freed of VAT. If your VAT is 0.66€ - and it is based only on the amount, HB and the publisher gets, that would make 3,96€ incl. VAT for them.

In that case, it would have to change when changing the sliders though which it doesn't. 3,96€ would mean a base of 3,30€. The minimum for Humble is 2€ though. Maybe they use some sort of average to calculate a reduced tax. But then again your calculation wouldn't add up if the VAT was only paid on a part of the price.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: their calculation actually does change wih the sliders. The total price doesn't though. I had given 2€ each to Humble and publisher before. When I change that to 2€ to Humble only and max. charity, their calculation looks like this:

Indie Fears Bundle €13.06
Subtotal €13.06
VAT €0.33
Total €13.39

If i change it to everything to Humble, it's the same. If I give max. to the publisher and 2€ to Humble, it's:

Indie Fears Bundle €11.16
Subtotal €11.16
VAT €2.23
Total €13.39

2,23€ is exactly 20%, so that last calculation is what they're actually doing. The rest is just shenannigans to keep the same total price.

I was actually pleasantly surprised to see Mouthwashing going for (assumedly) so cheap. I miss the days of $1 Tier 1 bundles. :(

In the very early days you could get DRM free downloads for any price, it was only if you wanted steam keys you needed to pay a dollar

Can't make up my mind about this bundle. Ratings seem great. But especially for the cheaper games Steam ratings tend to be rather useless.
Price also isn't great, considering that these are mostly cheaper games.

I'd say the price is good. A dollar per game and 1 game that I already owned. Technically it would've been 3 that I owned but I was lucky that I didn't reveal the keys for the Fanatical frightmare bundle lol. The days are mostly gone that we get 50 cent games anymore in bundles, so while some of these are cheap, they're probably still worth a dollar

I'm not a fan of price per game to judge the value of a bundle, as not all games are the same. Otherwise Indiegala would frequently provide the best bundles in this business. ;)

One of the ways I decide on a bundle is, I look at each game and add up the historical lows of the ones I'm interested in. If they add up to enough more than the bundle price that I don't think they'll match it anytime soon, I usually go for it.

Mouthwashing is clearly the headliner here, and its historical low/current sale price is $9. Now, it's only a year old so that's going to come down more, but it's a very popular game, so probably not very soon. So my logic was, I can buy it alone for $9, I can buy it for $9 and get 12 other games--at least some of which look interesting--for $4, or I can pass it up in hopes of a better deal and probably wish in a few months that I'd taken this one. Mouthwashing and Who's Lila alone pushed the HLs over the bundle price, No-Skin made it a good deal for me, and I was interested in a few more besides. So I went for it.

Edit: Just finished it, and Mouthwashing is 3 hours long but holy crap it's worth it if you like psychological horror. Except for a couple of short sections, it doesn't have much "traditional" horror (though it hurts me to call jumpscares and chase sequences traditional); it's just surreal, genuinely disturbing, and utterly bleak.

One of the best bundles of the year. Claimed all except one which I already owned. Excellent price for the content, so it was a no-brainer.

Watched someone play 'Who's Lila?' and it captured my attention the whole time! Not something I want to play myself but definitely seems worth the sale price at least. Recommend not using the DLC until you've played the game by itself for a bit.

Huh ok, so this is pretty tempting. I already have Buckshot, yeah, but I'm also interested in Mouthwashing and ArcticEggs. (Heck, I almost bought Mouthwashing a few weeks ago) And the other titles seem decent too. I probably wouldn't keep everything, but there's a good chance I'll pull the trigger on this if the next Choice bundle doesn't strike my fancy.

How do you like Buckshot Roulette so far?
I am really interested in it, looks pretty cool to me. I also have Mouthwashing on my wishlist, but I try not to spend money on games until the winter sale starts (my backlog is haunting me xD)
