They're not even the trend setter. COD, Battlefield, etc. This is old hat in gaming now. If people buy these games, they're going to keep making them.

$38 here in Mexico, honestly I thought it will be like $70, but anyway my last Assasins Creed was Black Flag and the franchise is over for me.

Even Rainbow Six Siege has the same price. It's ridiculous to think that after screwing up Unity, Ubisoft think they can charge EVEN more! What the hell is going through their heads?

I can't even keep up with the series anymore. It got tedious after 3-4 games. I'm probably going to skip III from my backlog, play Black Flag, and then wait until they have an entry that breathes new life into the franchise.

As far as I've heard, Black flag is the most enjoyable AC in the past couple of years, due to the pirate theme and lots of diversions to keep the player interested. I'm still yet to try it though,so much backlog =)

Do refunds work with 3rd party DRM though? Even assuming steam will refund the purchase and revoke the key, wouldnt then Ubi ban your account for "fraud", just like if you managed a refund from say amazon for a steam key, and then had that key revoked.

Ubi can certainly ban your Ubi account. Not your steam account. Its like asking if steam can ban your steam account, of course they can. EA, Steam and Ubi have all banned accounts. Will be interesting to see how the refund policy plays out.

I couldn't finish Unity. That's how bored I am with this franchise. I didn't even touch Rogue, now they are releasing Syndicate. They are ruining the franchise and they don't even realise it.

I have to wonder, how many games will be released broken and more or less the same as the previous one, for people to STOP BUYING THEM?
There are what ? Like 12 Call of Duty games and 9 Assassin's Creed games (not counting the smaller ones for phones and handhelds). They are not making them because they enjoy making the same game over and over, they are making them because millions of people pre-order then and buy them day 1.

Skipping this. Got burned by unity and their coop. Club competitions that take weeks to unlock content you already pay for, horrid optimization, the stuttering. It took a whole lot of trying to enjoy the game. A whole lot more to finish it with an ending that was predictable. open world with not much to do but roam around and kill guards all day. IF syndicate manages to be a massive improvement, i might consider it. Might.

lol, no pre-order this time. They hasn't patched unity yet to playable state.
AC3 was horrible but at least they patched it so I preordered ACIV. But that was my last AC game I own. I need Ubisoft to show competence again before buying any AC game.

i was never a AC fan, but i tried Unity, and it was actually great (3-4 weeks after release, before that it was kind of unplayable ^^). so if Syndicate is similar, but improved, i will probably get it.
