It doesn't seems a good game to play with a steering wheel

from What I've heard. RFactor.
But bear in mind it's not a game. It's really a simulator so unless you know your way around cars, its really hard.
I play it at my friends house and it's the best but he tunes the cars etc etc..

So real you can break the engine

Since I want a game fully adapted to steering wheel I'm not expecting an easy game :p
Is it avaiable on steam? Or where can I get it?

I think amazon should have it.
Also I believe there's an RFactor 2.

Two:

  1. iRacing - Laser mapped tracks with amazing detail and control over wet/dry, day/night conditions in many cases. It is a true simulator, so be prepared for a semi-steep learning curve. However, this is the primary program the pros use to train. A robust online racing community where you may occasionally be racing pros.

  2. RFactor - As Marques said, this is also a great simulator. The tracks aren't as accurate as iRacing, but they are still quite good, and the variety of downloadable mods is staggering. Anything from world-class facilities, down to regional club tracks. Same with vehicles.

Certainly there are others that are fun as well, but these two are king.

I'm guessing these aren't on Steam. :(

You are correct. I think GT Legends is Steam redeemable, and that's the same engine as rFactor and also a great game. But yes, there are no truly "worthy" driving simulators available via Steam, that I'm aware of.

I've it already (GT Legends) but I haven't tried it with a steering wheel, not sure if it works fine.

I used to play it with a GForce wheel and was able to configure it pretty well. I remember having to download a more robust config file, IIRC, but it worked out pretty well in the end.

Added both to my list already. Just need to find where can I get them, only through official site?

Yeah. iRacing from their site. I've been out of the loop for awhile on rFactor. I'm assuming it's downloadable somewhere...

Oh, and it really worth? I mean is it realistic? (ofc I'll try before get it but I would appreciate an opinion)

Realistic might be a stretch, but it's about as close as I've seen in a video simulator that isn't custom built.

It's a good wheel, and one that some pros use in their simulators.

Np. Hope you have a blast. If you get good at iRacing, start saving up for a race car. :D

There are better at similar prices, and get-shit-on amounts of better for more. Fanatec (http://us.fanatec.com/index.php?region=us&language=en) provides wheels, pedeals, and gearboxes that are simply better. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 Value Pack XL bundle is cheaper than the G27 package (when it's not on sale), and just rocks the G27 in every aspect.

Interesting. Will have to check those out sometime...

My big problem with all of these is it never really captures the feel of the actual car.

I'm sure it can be done, but it isn't cheap.

I think part of it is the lack of moving parts underneath you and a lack of physical forces (unless you go hydrolic). Although there are benefits to practicing without some sensory input as well, as it makes you concentrate on what you do have so that when you "add it back" on the track/road you actually gain by it.

you should get a seat yea.. What are you planning to play it on? A regular table?
You also build one out of metal and stuff, and just buy the seat itself

I don't know which one is the best. But for real driving simulator, you can try Euro Truck Simulator 2 or City Car Driving.

Steam only? GTR 2, GT Legends & Race 07.

Non-Steam? iRacing, rfactor/rfactor 2 & the upcoming pCARS & Assetto Corsa

Ah yeah. I forgot GTR2 was on Steam. Good advice. That's a pretty darn good one.

Free Try:

RaceRoom Racing Experience (on steam)
iRacing (find a 1 month trial somewhere)
Simraceway (didn't tried myself, but heard good about it)
rFactor 1/2 (didn't tried)
LIVE FOR SPEED (really awesome, but left behind with updates)

Gotta Buy:

RACE Injection (from SimBin, probably RRRE mentioned above has better physics)

Coming:

Asseto Corsa
Project Cars

Also, for about the same price as the wheel, I suggest going to a local driving event and doing the real thing!

In the long run, the G27 will be a WAY less expensive habit. But you should definitely do a track day at least once in your life if you have the scratch to do it.

I play Driver: San Francisco with a wheel. It's very fun :)
Not a simulator, though...

My ideal racing experience consists of a Logitech G27, surround sound headphones, a bucket seat, an Oculus Rift, and a great looking racing game, probably Project Cars.

Too bad the G27 is so expensive, but I still hope to get one sometime in the future. I'd probably need to upgrade my computer to get Project Cars running at a stable 60 FPS.

Richard Burns Rally. No idea if they still sell this, though.. the company that made it went bankrupt, but it's the best rally sim ever made.

City Car Driving? It's non-steam game, which happens to be quite costly. However, driving around is fun, and there are tons of mods for it, like this baby. Owners know why! :)

The game is very realistic. For instance, if you're waiting on a red light, in-gear, and you release your clutch, the engine will stall. If you let off the clutch and hit the gas too hard, the engine will stall. If you come to a full stop without holding your clutch, the engine will stall.
