I've never been too active in forums here on Steamgifts neither for creating giveaways. My comments are mostly related to thank people who made GA's I won. You can check my stats by yourself finding the giveaways I entered, the ones I won, the ones I sent, comments and so on. I know, many people judge a person from his stats and I don't complain about it. Feel free to blacklist me if you are able to rate a person from his profile. I'm not here to gain your favors.
Coming to us...
I want your "help" by writing down a game you would like to receive if you will be eventually picked at the end of.. my degree.
I have collected 15 out of 120 ECTs so far, and I'm planning to select the winner the day after my graduation (unfortunately unknown).
The rules are simple:
15/09/2020: The thread has been created (15/120 ECTs)
15/01/2021: +6 ECTs (21/120 ECTs)
18/01/2021: +6 ECTs (27/120 ECTs)
10/02/2021: +3 ECTs (30/120 ECTs)
14/06/2021: +6 ECTs (36/120 ECTs)
15/06/2021: +9 ECTs (45/120 ECTs)
29/06/2021: +9 ECTs (54/120 ECTs)
Since the studies are going quite well, I would like to add some new notes to this thread. In particular, I would inform you that the exams account for a total of 90 ECTs out of 120. The remaining 30 are split between an internship (6 ECTs) and the thesis (24 ECTs). At the end of the 90 ECTs linked to the exams, I will be able to anticipate if multiple winners will be picked (it will depend on my estimated graduation mark).
1) Is this giveaway related to your thesis? (thank you Filipi for first asking)
2) Why are you doing this? (thank you PeterShepard for first asking)
3) What kind of help do you need? (thank you Bo0Mz for first asking)
4) What are your plans? What are you majoring in? (thank Neomixer for first asking)
5) When's your graduation? (thank you Filipi again for first asking)
6) What does ECT stand for? (thank you PossiblePsycho for first asking)
7) How is going your journey?
8) Can I wait for a closer day to choose my pick?
9) Do you plan on going for a doctorate? (thank you RaisinCookiesAreGood for first asking)
P.s: I thank everyone who helps me in formatting text or makes this thread cuter. Every suggestion is welcome.

Would you like to help me taking my grade writing down a game you would like to receive if you are picked?
Good luck with your degree. How are you going to pick? A ramdomizer page? Any good, good luck and stay strong in your journey
I would love to play Stein's Gate.
This is a good question...I have to think about it... and absolutely make at least a spreadsheet...The popularity of this thread is overwhalming me!
I try my best to go ahead, thank you for joining! :)
I can feel you so much right now. The goal to graduate is hard to achieve but when you do, party like there is no tomorrow.
And don't make the same mistake I did. Don't go for PhD. Its modern slavery and it will crush your life in a very bad way. I hope myself to finish up this year but in life science everything can happen anytime.
I wish you all the best success (because luck is only nessessary when you don't work hard ;D).
I would go for AI: The Somnium Files
Is there anything you would like for your graduation? ;)
Thank you for your wonderful words and for your hints. I will follow blindly your suggestion about PhD. I have to be honest with myself and after the bechelor degree my will to study decreased exponentually... Actually I just want to "change air" and find a good place to work:
SPOILER: I already have contacts with an incredible firm, but that's another story...maybe another giveaway ahead? Like "first wage giveaway"..it sounds good for me :D
Anyway, thank you for joining us :)
Edit: I would get back the mental health I lost during the process ahah
If you have already contacts, which is great, hold onto them with your life! On hand experience is in many fields much more valueable then a raw degree.
Always remember, what many people forget, the universal degrees should give you a broad basis and the more you go with your studies the narrow and specialised it will become. So if you have the chance to get a job early on its more beneficial then later, because if you are hyper specilized the field of job offers becomes also as narrow as that.
Anyway, I am happy for you and wish you the willpower to fight through (and to get a wage that we all other would droll over) ;D
I have nothing to add...you exactly got the point! The more you go ahead and the more you become specialized...which is not so bad but neither so good. But it's hard to say...
It will be more clear after my working experience, but you will know when it will be :D For now, I just go for free to learn something and I'm fine with that since it's the field I want to work in.
You will definitely see me again around Steamgifts if the wage allows me to make someone happy :D
Hope you will breeze through the exams and that you will find the path you've embarked upon be bountiful.
As for the game, is there an upper limit? If not then i chose Metro Exodus - Gold Edition maybe in time the price will drop, else i'll change it.
No upper limits so far...I guess that the worst I can pay is a 70-ish € game/bundle...I don't expect something above this value :D
Thank you for joining us :)
Hope u will graduate smoothly through this covid era :)))
Would like to entry for: The outer worlds
Let's see how it evolves!
Thank you for joining us :)
Good luck my italian comrade!
I choose Charmander! nah just kidding, I choose Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Grazie di esserti unito a noi! :D
Good luck with your degree! Hope everything's good for you up there in Italy. Things have been tough for Italy these past year but some good news from there, small or otherwise, gives me hope for the coming months.
As for the game, hmm, I would like to play the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.
To be honest, I have been very (VERY) lucky...I and my family have not been touched so much by the Covid because my parents never stopped to work and we have not been infected. Moreover, I like to stay at home so the lockdown was not even a problem for me...instead, after the first months of stabilization (which also led to my current situation, but not exclusively) I used the home time to study hard (not always in the more efficient way but it's another story)
Anyway thank you for joining us! :)
Thank you! But feel free to select one game in the case you will be selected :)
Thank you for joining :D
thank you for the chance :)

I would like to pick Nier Replicant if possible.
Thank you for joining :)
I wish you success buddy! I myself will get my bachelor's degree in 1 year.
My pick is The Outer Worlds.
Your journey has just begun! Keep it up and thank you for joining us :)
good luck, I am certain you will do better than me I had to stop my thesis, but got al my courses done, so wisdom received, diploma not
my pick is factorio
Can you still complete your thesis?
I had some colleagues in the Masters who were not going to be able to finish their dissertation on time and so they "locked" the course (I don't know if this expression exists in other places, but it's like you paused the course). Now they are calmly finishing the research and will only return when the work can be presented.
nope, I had to stop it completly because of personal medical problems. The subject is time sensitive, it's for a course of 2022 and so will be continued by other students.
if I want to finnish my grade I should take a new subject=another year
good luck with your defense in a few weeks, let us know if you succeed
Oh I see. Hope you can return to studies soon.
IF I pass (everything is possible), I plan to do something here at SG to celebrate. You're one of my 💙, so you'll probably find out. : )
I'm sorry to hear that...is this the only way to take your degree?
This is a very unusual post.
My pick is Carto. Please tell us how we can help. At the end of the month I will defend a master's degree in the area of Urban and Regional Planning, the dissertation is (almost) ready and I will be evaluated by a group of professors. How does your graduation work for you?
I wish you the best, let us know how it has gone once done!
Pretty the same...I have to prepare a work/project based on a specific topic I previously chose. However, the impact of this work on the overall grade is minimal. The starting point is given by the weighted average of the grade of each exam weighted for the ECTs...the number obtained by this weighted average is between 18 and 30. Then it is converted by multiplying by 11 and dividing by 3 to obtain a number between 66 and 110. The system adds all the "laude" eventually obtained, increasing the ground of some decimals.
At the final number, you have to add the points of the thesis which are between 0 and 7+. If you get a final grade of 113+ you obtain the laude.
Some good luck sparkles for ya (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ *:･ﾟ✧
My selection is: Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection
Thank you for joining us :)
A Monster's Expedition.
Good luck with the academic stuff!
Thank you for joining! :)
I'm not sure how i'll help you but i'll choose No Man's Sky
I hope you are doing good on your degree =D
I'm trying my best :D Thank you for joining us :)
In my final year doing my Masters, I don't recall being able to play any games. It was just stress all the way finishing off my thesis.
Hoping it's not the same for you, but hoping you get there in the end, without too much fuss.
If I'd have to pick a game, I'd be stuck between Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2. I have most of the others I really want to play, so it's not an easy choice to be very specific. :)
You still have time to choose! :D It's getting hard..you probably know better than me...stress, lack of concentration, poor lifestyle due to horrible studying hours...lucky you already out :D
That feeling of relief when it was done - such a high! :D
Let me just choose Red Dead Redemption 2 in that case. ;)
I'll pick Praey for the Gods, since it's been at the top of my wishlist for ages and it might actually be out of Early Access by the time you graduate... 😅
Good luck with the rest of your degree 🍀😊
Thank you for joining us :) Maybe it's the right time to delete it from your wishlist!
Lemme say a big good luck to your degree!
If you need help from me to write down a game which I want to play, of course I'll pick one of the best rogelite ever created, Hades.
The game you select is the one you will get if chosen once I graduate! :D
That will be very nice then. :D
Alrighty! I don't know how I've never come across this thread till now, but I wish you the best of luck with your degree! ^_^
Tough choice, but I'll say Baldur's Gate 3.
I hope the lifespan of this thread will help to reach most of the usual SG members! Thank you for joining us :)
Good luck paolo97
I'll pick... Dishonored 2
Thank you BarefootMonkey for joining us :)
What is "ECT"?
I'll pick OneShot (for Steam). : )
6) What does ECT stand for? (thank you PossiblePsycho for first asking)
ECTs stands for "European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System" which express the weight of each exam in the degree. For our purpose, you can see them as the "progress" of my journey
And thank you for joining! :)
Best of luck for your thesis!!!
My pick is Cyberpunk 2077 :)
Thank you, I'm actually starting to look around...5 exams left! ;)
You can do it!
Rolling for Yakuza Like a Dragon!
Working hard and doing my best! :) Thank you for joining :)
If I could pick any game to be gifted, I would have to go with any good indie game I don't already own. I want to say Dead Cells since I only owned it on PSN, no longer own a PS4, and loved it, and I also want to say Spelunky 2 since I sort of liked the first game, at least enough to be interested in the sequel, but my final answer would be The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, since I owned the original BoI and never managed to purchase the remake that all of the DLC ended up being based on. At this point it's almost too late to buy it but it's also a shame I don't own it since I claim to love indie games so much.
TLDR: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Seems to be hard to choose! ;D Keep in mind you can always change your pick until the day before my (still unknown) graduation!
I just wish I could make up my mind on how to spend the 15 bucks in my Steam Wallet right now. So far this Summer Sale I've gone with purchases that are nowhere near what I was thinking before the sale started. I had 50 bucks and was thinking about buying like 5 or more indie hits I don't yet own, mostly games that are between 5 and 10 bucks US. And instead I went with two AAA titles one of which wasn't even half off and when it comes to the seasonal sales my default shopping pattern is to start by looking at the discounts that are 75% off and above. Resident Evil 3 and Zombie Army 4 were the games and I loved and played the hell out of the other games in both franchises and knew I'd love both.
And as for what I have left, I'm doing the exact same thing, I'm looking at the complete Dead Cells at 20 bucks and I already know I love the game and yet I'm still debating on whether I should instead buy multiple games with the same amount of money. This is what I'm thinking about...
-Dead Cells Bundle
-Steamworld Dig 2
and there's many many others I'm also thinking about.
Indecisiveness is the worst. Thank God/Science for Steam's return policy.
