Dave the Diver has an achievement based on feeding the cat, and you can also pet the cat, but it isn't exactly letting the cat achievement.

I bet some of the take-care-of-pet games have those.

There was this one game I played called Restless Soul that I could swear had an achievement for petting the dog but I checked the achievements and despite a couple of them being related to the dog character none of them mention petting them, I guess my memory just mixed it up or something because petting the dog was relevant to the actual plot.

There is one for A space for the unbound where you must pet all the animals in the game.

Ghostwire: Tokyo has an achievement for petting any of the cats or dogs in the game. You can also feed the dogs, but you don't get an achievement for that.

TOEM has one for petting any pet.

Lacuna has one for petting Lizard

Hob: Animal Instinct

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Revita, where you get an achievement if you pet the cat enough times. I figured this out by pure chance lol

Another search term you could use is "pet a", and of course "pet" also works, but you're going to get a bunch that aren't that, including words with pet in the name, like compete. Thanks for making the topic, otherwise I wouldn't have looked this up. Time to add a ton of new games to my wishlist lol

I wanted to say "Chants of Sennaar", but recalled there sadly was no achievement for petting the only pettable cat :( BUT it's still worth to mention that TWO cats are listed as Voice Actors in credits ^^

World of Warcraft has many achievements related to petting many of the different types of critters found in every expansion.

Buddy Simulator 1984, played it last weekend and it has an achievement for petting the dog a lot.

There is Chicken Molester in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 for "petting" the chicken multiple times by clicking on it

That's funny, I've just been playing Animal Shelter and they have quite a few achievements for petting the animals :)
