Should I buy Dawn of War II? Now with additional puzzle in the comments!

I'm like DC and SS, but DoW II isn't good for me.

DoW2 Gold Edition has original and chaos rising. I'd say buy this one because of campaign. retribution has crappy campaign but its multiplayer is somewhat active comparing to other games

To me, DoW II was what they call "so okay it's average". It's nowhere near as enjoyable as Dark Crusade, but I can't bring myself to call it bad. Chaos Rising is better, with nicer campaign, though I wish they brought the original actor for Eliphas. (the new one isn't as bad as people say, but still) I enjoyed the campaign in Retribution, but the game has some glitches and it seems like they don't feel like fixing them. I heard all of them really shine in MP, though I only played some Last Stand in Retribution.

I think Chaos Rising is the best of those, but story continues straight from DoW II, so if you want to play CR for the plot, get both. Retribution if you want multi.

I also didn't like the demo but I got the game last year when I bought some THQ pack from Steam and I found it enjoyable. Not similar to the first game, but enjoyable nevertheless. Let's say it's more of a RTT (Real-Time Tactics) than a RTS game as the armies are much smaller (especially in the campaign).

Great game, big fan of Warhammer 40K. It is definitely worth not (didn't have a single problem with GFWL).

DoW II is much less massive than the first part. It's basically focused on 5 squads that you have to manage and level up (well there are also additional squads to choose from, but in every mission you play with only 5). It's still a fun game, but how much fun you would get out of it depends on whether you don't mind smaller scale and more RPG elements in the game.

Is DoW a atrategy game like warcraft 3? I want to try a game very similar to warcraft 3 and have good story mode. Im not into space type games though.

No. RTS without basebuilding a terribad. Stick to SC2.

Dont, Dawn of War 1 was the better version. DoW 2 I just hatted and thought it was a waste of money.

The first was definitely better, this is more along the lines of Company of Heroes with Warhammer skin. Which isn't bad it's just not the first game. So if you like Company of Heroes you'll probably like DoW2, if not maybe better to stick with the first game. I will say that while I could just never get into DoW2, or CoH for that matter, but I still really liked the Last Stand mode.
