i've got 13$ on my steam account and i wanna get either payday 2, goat simulator, elder scrolls v skyrim, but i'm unsure if i should buy now because what if the sale goes from like 50% off to 60% off the next day what should i do life decisions are hard

None of them are a daily deal, flash sale or community choice so wait. Skyrim and Payday 2 are bound to get daily deals and Goat Simulator has a pretty good chance of it as well.

Yup, just like today's XCOM for example.

Yeah, but past sales have shown that it's probably a better deal to just buy the Legendary Edition on sale instead since the DLCs have yet to go below 50% off.

considering dawnguard and dragon born both cost MORE than the base game it might be a waste of a game but you will save money buyin the legendary edition. Unless you already have 2 of the 3 DLC already. Same thing kinda went with Borderlands 2 GOTY

Doubt LE will go for 75% but even 66% will be lower than last time. The game price fell from 39.99€ to 29.99€ from the last sale until now (in Germany at least but I guess it's also so for the other countries)

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim's lowest discount on steam was -75%, Payday 2's -67%
for summer same you usually want to wait until a game goes on -75% (or better)
newer released games will most likely not reach -75% so it depends on which games you want the most
buying and hoarding games just because they're cheap is a bad idea since it's money wasted so only buy a game if you want to play it now, if not then you can always get it during another sale for the same price or better

Buy tf2 keys and get your games from a trader when it is 75% off, that is my advice.

the only tip on sale is only buy games on flash sales.

I have bought many games from last years sale and I still havent finished them yet,

General rules I go by:

  1. Focus on Dailies, Flash, and Community deals.
  2. If a game you want is on Daily/Flash/Community for 75% off or better, get it.
  3. If a game's base deal is 50% off or better and it never goes on sale, look at it on the final day.
  4. If a game's base deal and/or sale deal is less than 50% off, ignore it.

Buy something from Daily or Flash sales ONLY, just wait, because it will get more discount than normal sale
