AND A WONDERLAND.

Edit: Ok that looks like Daggerdale without all the bugs with a significant amount of polish. Looks awesome.

Uses Dungeons and Dragons 4.0. Sadly that means it can't be good, ever.

Eh. While I'm not about to get mixed up into the extremely juvenile edition wars, I don't think it can be denied that 4e is very well suited for videogames. More so than 3.x ever was, I'd say.

I'd rather take a new Baldur's Gate, but oh well... will see how this turns out. Not too optimistic, since it's an MMO and all.

I don't see a DL link or release date, or any information except about what the game is. Don't see how to play it

+1 I don't see it either.... can anyone shine some light on this?

There is no official release date yet (as far as I've seen, it's just Q4 2011). He's simply expressing excitement about the game...or he knows something that nobody else knows.

Considering the troubled dev history for this game... I'm not really betting it's going to be much better than Daggerdale

So this is different from D&D Online due to...the setting being specifically set in Forgotten Realms?

A game by Cryptic, who ruined the MMO potential of a franchise like Star Trek and are now owned by notoriously ruthless pay2win publisher Perfect World? No thanks...

Yeah. Cryptic hasn't released anything good in a long while, going to pass on this. Besides no video game will ever encompass the true freedom of Pen and Paper.

True, the odds of a game actually reaching that level of freedom are virtually nonexistent at this point (especially in an online game). However, I still stand by Cryptic since City of Heroes has managed to still survive as long as WoW (without fading into obscurity), which really says something in today's MMO market. I think people would have more confidence in this game if BioWare was working on it, but of course they already have a pretty full list of games they are working on.

Bioware is too focused on their own franchises to be bothered with another DnD game I think. They should put Obsidian on it again! NWN2 was better than the first in many ways after all. Just make sure they hire some quality bughunters this time, so it´s not another typical Obsidian release...

City of Heroes is over seven years old and Cryptic hasn't had anything to do with it in some time. In the meantime, they've been responsible for Champions Online and Star Trek Online, both of which had great potential that the studio completely wasted, and at least in the case of STO, a terrible item shop.

I have very mixed feelings about this game.

On one hand, the last two Neverwinter games were very good. On the other, both games are pretty bland and boring out-of-the-box and aren't much fun until you get the right expansion (HotU for 1, MotB for 2) or a bunch of good mods.
On one hand, I enjoy DnD-based RPGs. On the other, Cryptic Studios isn't exactly known for their high-quality games, and this sounds more like another of their half-baked MMOs than a NWN successor.
On one hand, this is the first real DnD 4e videogame. On the other, this is the first real DnD 4e videogame.

So I guess what I mean to say is, I am very excited for this game but at the same time I have zero faith in it. I´ll just wait and see.
