true, but id reckon this is also so that the devs dont have to give it out directly on steam for free as well

I think in this time adds the game to the HB library. That's better that the previous case with Outcast that doesn't have the download link anymore.

Hopefully it stays in our Humble library forever and doesn't expire. This one doesn't say anything about expiring.

Recaptcha is being dumb again. I didn't get locked out this time like I did last week, but I did it correct every time and it failed me like 8 or 10 times before it finally worked. It went into its slow mode again where every picture takes 10 or 15 seconds to load.

What is going on with HB, I had to answer like 10 captchas and then they don't even give me the game...

I don't think it's Humble, recaptcha is just really broken. Not sure why you didn't get the game though.

Got the game after I waited a couple of mins and two more tries, maybe it just didn't register or it timed out or so. I thought maybe HB put more of those anti-bot measures in place as a result of the problems with the past giveaways.

Did you answer correctly?

I think so, sometimes it's not 100% clear what exactly they define as a storefront, or what tiles show certain objects when only a corner of the object reaches into that tile etc. so I'm sure I make mistakes sometimes. :D I got the game now though.

I didn't get any captcha, but I was already signed into the Humble site and already subscribed to their newsletter (required to download) when I accepted the offer. So I bet doing those two things can mitigate or prevent getting captcha on their site.

So there are people who would rather NOT have DRM-free games if they could have a Steam key instead? I don't get it.

Yes, and it's legit

Steam automatically updates without having to redownload the entire game.

Sure, that makes sense if it's a newer game or one that's going to get more content, but for something that's been out for awhile like Tacoma, I don't really see that it matters.

Well generally Steam copy > DRM free copy for many PC gamers. It's just that emotional attachment.

Steam is WAY more convenient. I have hundreds of games and own quite a few DRM free ones as well, but I never remember which ones or where and when I sit down at a fresh install of a new computer steam gets installed but all those DRM free games... not so much.

Having all your eggs in one basket might be risk and some may not like some aspects of steam, but it sure as hell is convenient!

Should also note that a significant portion of the games I own on steam are DRM free - steam is not a DRM but they have a DRM that games can (and often do) include. DRM free steam games can be accessed, installed and played through the steam platform just like any other - but can also be played directly from the install folder without steam running.

Does this one expire? I can't see any kind of warning this time, it would be really nice if it stays in my library.

Your downloadlink won't expire but this game also won't be able to go into your library unless you add as non-steam game

Good to know it won't vanish like Outcast did, thanks for the confirmation.

Ahh TIL about the HB library, never bothered to check 😅
Anyway I did a double check and no expiration dates etc, saw older DRM free games I've claimed in the past. Can also still access those downloadlinks through the email I got after claiming them so to be sure maybe keep the email?

It's obvious you can claim it but I don't see any benefits. Might be keeping the download link after cancelling Monthly Subscriber?

The version given through this free giveaway is the exact same version that can be downloaded from the Trove. Hope that helps.
