Wrocław in western Poland - it's a strange city, as it nearly has no "core" citizens that lives here for decades/centuries like most other old cities have. Due to historical changes it was one time german (it was called Breslau then) one time polish, then afterwards due to WW2 and Communism later nearly all the citizens had to move or were forced to move. Nowadays it's one of the biggest polish academics centres (1/6 of 600k citizens are universities students!) and big centre of polish IT (did you play Dead Island? Well it was developed right here!). Also has one of the most beautiful polish old-towns and it's gonna be Euoropean Capital of Culture 2016.
