Weirdly enough, if the official Steam page of the game is to be believed, Act V is actually going to be released, and that's supposed to happen in three weeks, on January 28. I guess, I'll believe it when I see it.

No giveaways here, you've already likely got the game in question in your library anyway.

Wow and here i thought act 5 had been released already and i just never played it.....
This game had a great premise and at the time it got attention for being a different sort of game
I remember being wary of the episodic release style and being unwilling to pay for 5 episodes, promptly pirating the first 4 as each released, promising to buy the full game once it was released as usual, and now here we are so many years later still waiting.... and boy am i glad they never got my money!!!!
I can't really complain since i didn't give them any money, but this is one of the oldest examples now of why you shouldn't pay people or companies for something before it comes out, once they have your money it's over.
If no one payed them, episode 2-5 would have been all released within a year or 2 of each other, instead they had their pockets lined and were sent the message "people will give you money no matter what if you dangle a carrot for them"
It's not just about the game anymore, the real game is the one being played for your money, and how little effort can be used to extract that money.... we're at the point where merely saying something will exist with no guarantees is enough....
Hope you guy's have fun with act 5 and it was worth the wait at least!

I don't understand. If no one paid them, episode 2-5 would be released faster?
This isn't the example of why you shouldn't pay people for something before it comes out...I'd understand the statement if the game got abandoned but it was released, albeit late. And this is coming from someone who's not really anticipating the full episode release, the game just got collected in my library during my collecting days.

correct, if no one paid them, they would have had to release the game complete or on time if they wanted their paycheque, like they used to/continue to do with some games. there are not many things in life where you pay before you recieve them, and the ones where you do, you usually recieve immediately after paying and if not you recieve a legal guarentee that you will recieve said product by a certain date.

you may believe what you wish but nothing i have stated is incorrect, you're just looking at it differently. if you think you got your moneys worth then good for you, you're one of the few

I'll whip up a "You played a good game and enjoyed yourself!" achievement graphic that you can print out and hold up to your screen whenever you play a game without achievements. ;)

Yeah, read about it this morning. That's really cool. Like many others I bought it back then, played the first act (which was really good) and then stopped and waited for the game to be complete. Didn't expect it to take 7 years, lol. But I'm glad we will finally get the last act. Looking forward to it.

This is why it HAS to be game of the decade because it is such a good reflecting of the greater video game industry /s

...and evidently so does Minecraft, Spelunky, and BotW.

Happy cake day!
