I spent a total of around $36 and got 18 new games; then made back about $28 selling cards (sold over 165 cards!)

Gotta love those trading cards :)

Not a single brouzouf. I made over 40€ selling cards and bought a few TF2 keys that I traded for 3 games. I'll save my wallet money for more interesting occasions.

:-D

I had kept my cards for a long time, suddenly decided to sell all of them. I also had a few foil and booster packs. I voted as much as I could and sold the Summer Sale cards as soon as I got them. I'm still in the process of milking all my games that have cards in order to sell them.

About refrainind from buying, let's say I have a lot of games and even if there has been temptations, I only bought those I really wanted to play right away : The Walking Dead + The Walking Dead (Telltale) + The Fall.

About TF2 trading, well, you know, find a nice and honest trader and get all your games from him (at least all those that are not region-locked).

How can you made 40€?? Do you use magic or something?

I sold over 500 cards, opened all my booster packs, sold the Summer Sale cards as soon as possible (their value was decreasing so you had to sell them as soon as possible).

I still have 61 games that will drop cards.

The beginning of sales is definitely the best time to sell. I saw cards for almost every game priced higher than usual once people were crafting for summer sale cards.

me too, just 1.4 euro for Skyrim. I could've get it for free if I waited till the encore day.
Sold all summer cards, bought other cards, craft badges hoping i would win something from my wishlist. I still have 1 euro left from cards.

A combo of cheap games (Blackwells, Defy Gravity, etc) and using my wallet funds to buy TF2 Keys instead of buying direct from the store.

You'd be surprised how much further your money goes when trading :)

OH well then you just took cheap games... I trade too, but I rarely trade for cheap games. Mostly because there's a reason for their cheap price.

I spent exactly 60 euros on the sale buying keys, already had 2 from before the sale off card money, crafted the summer badge 1 day when my team was winning and got a 500 points token I sold on the market for 3,20 euros profit, dropped cards off some of the games I bought (below) and all together bought 4, maybe 5 keys off that card / token money, and got

  • Defy Gravity Extended (free - as it was on a 20 cent deal and trading cards were worth more than the game cost :P)
  • Sniper Elite 3
  • Dead Rising 3 Pre-Order
  • Insurgency 4-pack for 2 friends (already own it myself) for 6 keys, sold off the other 2 copies for 3k each - free game for 2 friends!
  • Alien Rage Unlimited (key off a bundle)
  • Intake (key off a bundle)
  • Carmageddon Reincarnation (backer key bought from someone who got the $30 tier and had two keys - so that includes all future DLCs) :D
  • Next Car Game Deluxe Edition
  • Strike Vector
  • Eversion
  • Saints Row IV Season Pass

What was that about only using trading to get "cheap games"? I spent about the cost of 1 AAA game and got two AAA games (SE3 + DR3 pre-order) , some AA ones (including all future DLC for Carmageddon), and three smaller ones (Defy Gravity / Intake / Eversion) as well. Got everything I wanted off the sale for the cost of 1 game, and got 2 friends a game I wanted to play with them, for free. Oh, and I still have 1 key and some spare ref. left. feelsgood.jpg

About five bucks. I picked up a few inexpensive gifts, and I'm thinking about whether or not I want to buy more or save my money for later. Rumor has it that Payday 2 is getting some shotgun-related DLC. I needs me some new shotties.
