how does gamegate and green man gamming working?

i'm interested in buying some games form these site can anyone tell me how it works? i'm assuming the games are steam redeemable and you don't need to be in America to purchase these games

Region lock can still be a problem, you should check carefully (Google search, ask on forum, check on steamdb.info) about each game before purchasing.

Not all the games they sell are Steam keys, you need to check the DRM details for the games you're interested in.

You don't need to be in the USA to purchase, but not all games are steam redeemable. You need to to search the game page for the type of DRM (on GG it's in the lower right corner, and on GMG in the lower left) - if it's says Steam ("Third party DRM: Steam, or "Activates on Steam") - they you can activate it on Steam. Otherwise, it might be download only, or through their own client (GMG has Capsule).
