Context
In regards to the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, all purchases of This War of Mine + DLCs starting Feb. 24, 2022 til March 3, 2022 will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross. Also, GOG will donate their cut of the profits to the same charity. Therefore, I shall do my part financially and buy four copies to give away, then donate the same amount of money (16.28 USD) to the Orphan's Aid Society Ukraine.

I believe video games is a recent developing frontier of media experience that further involves the users than other media formats that came before it such as movies and radio. More true so when video games and (developing) historical events mix together. Gaming is an interactive medium and when the subjects involve real-life situations, the feelings experienced by the players can be similar as the characters involved in the story. At the university I attend, as a student earning his degree in History and Russian language, the current situation in Europe is a concerning topic with my classmates and some professors that I know of especially a few of them with Slavic relations. And two years ago, a new History section was created solely for the analysis and discussion about history in video games (e.g. Total War games, Hearts of Iron, Crusader Kings,). Once thought of as a pure hobby has become a source of academic conversation. We could see ourselves playing as a character in the 2022 Ukrainian-Russian conflict in the near future.
