Have you been to Rome?

If you come up Northern Italy, maybe I can arrange you a ride on the train with me huehuehue

I heard my firm is going to drive trains in Slovenia c:
I don't know how it will work though, if they will hire Slovenian personnel or teach some of us Slovenian rules and signaling. We'll see :D

O interesting :o
I don't think the rules and signaling should be too different? :o

I went to Nova Gorica a couple days ago (we have a few colleagues who are qualified for Slovenian signaling, but are allowed to drive only on that short line from Gorizia to Nova Gorica) and the signals are completely different. Probably they are different but mean the same thing, but I don't really know.
I don't really want to learn them, I've had a guftul of signals and books last year!! :D

I've never been but it's definitely in the near future. I've seen most of Italy, some places twice but for some reason Rome was never in my path before. I hope you have a good time but honestly, I don't see how you couldn't. Italy is a beautiful and romantic country and you're going with your girlfriend. You'd have to work hard at it not to have a good time :)
Also, brilliant list of GAs!

Rome is a beautiful city, full of history... But indeed has issues, many linked to the archaeological aspect, I think (but I don't live there, so I don't know very precisely what their problems are, and media usually tend to exhaggerate them, as usual)

Enjoy your trip!
I liked Rome, when I was there for one day. I think Frascati is worth a trip.

As you may have guessed from the thread title...
I'm going to Rome!
Next month, I am flying from Washington, DC to Rome, Italy for my first-ever trip outside the North American continent. I cannot wait! I'm going with my girlfriend, who has been to Rome before (as well as a bunch of other places in Europe), so she will be my travel guide.
But I'm also interested in hearing from SG. Give me tips about traveling, or stories about Rome or Italy, or whatever you want to share!
See below for a few Level 1 Rome-related giveaways and one that has nothing at all to do with Rome.
Vado a Roma!
If any SGers in Italy want to meet up -- looking at you, Caio! -- contact me on Steam!
