Hey,

so I have an issue with my Xbox One controller. Whenever I shut down my PC and restart it, the controller can't find the dongle. Which makes me need to reconnect it to USB. But I'd love to have it on my back USB port all the time.

Any way to fix this?

Oh yeah, there's your GA: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/0OvAG/doom

Thanks in advance!

Try doing a fresh install and see if it fixes the issue.

Also if you don't have Microsoft's Xbox Accessories app installed you may want to try that.

Did you fix your issue with the controller?

I have this issue when my controller is still ON when I shut down/restart my pc. I figured out two solutions for this: 1st the obvious one is, I turn off my controller before shutting down the rig. 2nd when I forget to shut down the controller and restart my rig, I simply take out the dongle from the usb port and plug it back (it's faster for me, then reconnect this sh*t everytime).

Had issues with my xbox controller recently as well. After trying to troubleshoot the issue, I was told to update the firmware by support. I hadn't done any updates in ages as I rarely turn the console on these days. Did the update and everything has been peachy since then. The xbox support webpage lists step by step instructions for updating wirelessly, via usb, or the pc app if you need the assist. I'm not sure if this will help with your specific problem but it's worth a shot and is relatively quick and easy.

Pair it again? I'm not sure about the xbox controller but I have to pair my ps4 controller again every time after I shutdown my computer and boot it back up.

Do you have the lastest version of the firmware (dongle and xbox controller) and W10 (if you are using W10)?

How about a long USB cable? I know it's shitty, but you'll save on batteries

The controller actually came with such a cable and currently I am using it as well since I don't feel like kneeling down to reattach it to my PC all the time lol

I supossed you tried it but I got the same one and it desyncs if I connect the controller to my phone. Try putting the dongle and press the sync button on both the controller and the dongle. The button is on the front of the controller.

I've nevar had this issue, but first time I linked with the dongle was like hell.

My 'vibration' sounds like a nuclear bomb too... I don't know if it's normal.

device manager -> usb controller -> find the right one and uninstall device ... will clear the
usb ports settings/drivers and force to re-install drivers for it next time you reboot or plug it in again

if you mistakenly uninstall your mouse/keyboard/other and plugging it out and back in doesn't initiate the driver install just reboot that will
try another port if this didn't work - might be the pc-case's usb port or lead that is trash, ones directly on the mainboard are more reliable

Did suggestion fix it? It works fine after you re-insert it? Maybe the dongle is broken like not 100%?
