So I've got 2 10% off Monthly Bundle Coupons, one expiring on April 1st and second on May 6th.

So my question is when I buy the bundle, which coupon will be used first, the one expiring first, or the latter one, that is the one that I got last (and which expires a month later)

I remember someone saying that the last coupon was being used, but I cannot find this atm. Is this still the case or has it been fixed?

If the last acquired coupon (that expires later) is indeed the one being used, can I just buy the HB Jumbo bundle (for example) again for 0.01$ and get a new coupon again?

I am asking this, because I want to have coupons for both upcoming HB Monthlies, as I will likely be subscribing this month.

If someone could clarify and confirm this it would be most helpful.

Will the coupon that expires first be used?

Yes
No, the coupon acquired last will be used

Somebody has posted on the forums that last coupon will be used some time ago. Unless HB fixed this. You can look for this thread in discussions.

Yes, I can't find that topic or reply atm. I was looking for both coupon and monthly. It was concerning last March bundle I think.

But then again it might have been fixed by then.

In this case I might buy the new HB DRM free bundle too, as I'm a first time subscriber.

Thank you very much for finding it. I was closed that's why it wasn't showing up for me.

Yeah, I closed it since I figured the problem is solved. For most people who bought after me it worked right away, and even if you should have problems: like Sooth said, Humble Support maybe isn't the fastest (so it may take a few days), but they fixed my problem just fine and were really nice.

If you scroll down, you'll note that it's not consistant in applying the most recent one, either.

In theory you can just buy it and contact support over it- or if you want to be really safe, contact support beforehand (not like you don't have a bit of time still on it).

Humble Support- despite the disapproval it gets from (a small number?) of people on the forums- is generally spectacular, and very gracious in resolving issues. Well. so long as region-restrictions aren't involved, apparently- though they do give unrestricted refunds for such instances, at the least. It's far more likely that they'll take care of it without issue, than not. :)

I bought Humble Indie Bundle 16 on March 7th (and got a discount coupon for monthly), then I bought Jumbo Bundle on March 8th (and got a discount coupon for monthly), then I bought Monthly Bundle on March 11. The coupon that was used was the first one.

As far as I know you can only use one coupon ever, so it doesn't really matter..
Or do new customers get automatically 10% off without a coupon? Because it says something like "Your first purchase is 10% cheaper" or something

There are coupons for only first subscribers (in MIX Digital Preview Ticket Bundle) and coupons that work also for old and current subscribers. I used a coupon for April and I still have another coupon that I can use for May Bundle.

Oh thanks for clearing that up. I wonder if they will continue putting coupons for long-time subscribers in other bundles :3

The first-time subscriber coupon could be bought for 1 cent, so it's kind of a special promo.

The normal ones seem to be a regular monthly promotion, similar to Groupees coins- they don't really quite make intuitive sense from a financial viewpoint, but they seem to work solidly as a promotion.
Perhaps people are more likely to buy the monthly if they have a coupon for it, and that makes up for any loss.
Or perhaps they're relying on "try it once, get hooked" and aiming toward new customers from the start.

Ah yea that's right and if people don't get hooked they might even forget they have a running subscription there (if it's automatic)... In some ways it makes sense I guess

Oh, yeah, that's typical auto-subscribe tactics.
And ew, I'd forgotten [and just reconfirmed] that Humble does do that.
I guess I just expected better from them [forced auto-subscribe is scummy, no way around it].

You probably just nailed it on the head, there- forgetting aside, a lot of people tend to get ambivalent about recurring subscription fees, and I imagine nabbing a coupon for the next month's charges doesn't help convince people to stop their service.

Well, good business tactics for Humble, it seems, if a bit of a shortcoming for their presenting a dignified comportment.
