Hey guys I got RotT and I decided to focus first on explosives so I got all the mines, the nuclear reactor and all the explosive turrets. Now my advisor keeps telling me to research efficency, what happens if I don't?

It didn't matter for me, I researched nothing what he advised, the spreader cannon + multishot cannon combo is pretty much the most effective. And for later levels, you'll need to research everything anyway, so I don't know about that.
