I would like to give away Pirates of Blac Cove : https://store.steampowered.com/app/49330/Pirates_of_Black_Cove/

But I can only find the DLC on SG. Did I miss something? Thank you for your help!

Too many fucktards pardon my french were trying to pass of their free copies they got from DLH.net and similar sources as an almost identically named game that still gave CV so I assume support removed it to prevent constant abuse.

Is it a Steam key? If so, there are no Steam keys for the version that's linked to that store page.

The only version that has Steam keys is the one that was removed from the Steam store page, Pirates of Black Cove Gold.

Then that is not Pirates of Black Cove, it's Pirates of Black Cove Gold which is a different version of the game.

Well when trying to activate it, it says it's Pirates of Black Cove, and there is no mentioning of Gold. When I try to activate it (I already have it), and then click and SteamDB, this where I land : https://steamdb.info/sub/8732/
No mentioning of Gold. The Gold version includes the DLC, and I don't have it. So it seems my key is really for Pirates of Black Cove and not Pirates of Black Cove Gold.

But I wouldn't want to cause any ruckus here so I'll try to give it away on other website.

There's no keys for what's on the Steam store, the developer didn't generate any.

That unknown app was only added to 8732 in 2016. According to steamdb's version history at the time it was bundled on IG in 2013 it only had app 49330. That unknown app also isn't part of any of the Gold version packages.

I'd say the most likely explanation by far is that the dev simply doesn't remember correctly which version was bundled in 2013.

Why wouldn't there be keys for that version? It was bundled a few times around 2013 and now it can drop from IG Feudalife Challenge although with a very low chance.

But I agree that giveaways for this game could get very confusing so it's understandable that it was removed from the SG catalog.

Because there's no keys for that version of the game as stated to me by one of the developers. Any keys for Pirates of Black Cove are for the Gold version.

In this case the dev knows wrong. I won the non-Gold version on Feudalife this year twice. I don't own the Gold version. If you check the barter page of this game you can see that it was successfully traded several times and the source is an old Indiegala bundle from 2013 from which the leftover keys were dumped into Feudalife.

I can send you the key I activated on my account if you wish so you can check with your own eyes if you still don't believe it.

There's 2 versions for Pirates of Black Cove. There's the Gold version which is removed from Steam and the one that currently has a store page.

I don't understand. I clearly told you in my last message that I own the non-Gold version. The one with the Steam store page. Activated through a key that does exist. I even told you the source. (2013 IG bundle - Feudalife.)

Do you need the key to believe me? I can send you an already activated one. Just let me know. It activates as Pirates of Black Cove and its packageid is 8732. https://steamdb.info/sub/8732/apps/

My wife has it on her account too. A Steam key for non-Gold version, activated on 13th June, 2013. Guess it was that same bundle.

I own both versions, both activated with keys. Here's a copy&paste from the license page:

2 Oct, 2014 Pirates of Black Cove Gold Steam Store and Retail Key Retail
20 Aug, 2013 Pirates of Black Cove Retail

What the dev probably meant is that no new keys were generated since that IG bundle, not that they don't exist at all. Or he completely forgot about that bundle (I guess the only time keys where generated for that version of the game).

She told me this in November of 2018, so there's definitely some time that had passed between the bundle and when I was told. The reason I reached out to their dev team was because of all of GAs that were listed as the Store version, but turned out being the Gold. I wanted to know if there were any keys for the non Gold version and she said no, that they didn't generate keys or put their game for sale on any store front.

Dude how can you be so stubborn. The non gold version was bundled by IndieGala. Keys do exist for it.

Excuse me? I'm sorry, but you must think you're talking to one of your buddies or a family member with that tone.

First, as I stated one of the developers of the game told me that no keys were generated for the current store page version and that any keys that were out there are for the Gold version. So going by that information the keys in those bundles should be for the gold version. So yes, obviously there is some misinformation as someone already stated that they recieved a non Gold version of the game in the bundle.

Second, do you know how many sites that are selling keys for "Pirates of Black Cove" that is for the gold version? A lot. Out of the many GAs that I've seen here on SG, I've never seen 1 GA that was not for the Gold version. If there is one for the non Gold version I'm not aware of it.

No offense, but I think devs changed their mind after they told you so.

But I must admit that many sellers don't know which version are they actually selling.

response i got from support

"Pirates of Black Cove has been removed from the giveaway list as it has generated a number of problems for everyone involved.

The Gold version has been removed from Steam, which means people can still enter to win, despite already owning it, and the VAST majority of giveaways for this game tend to be the Gold version. The Gold version is unavailable for us to add to the list, because it is missing from Steam's API, so users would frequently use the non-Gold entry for their giveaways. Giveaway creators are often not even sure about which version they have on hand.

What would end up happening is the winner would often not realize the difference, and end up getting a suspension for not activating their gift.

Sorry about that."
