Need your opinion on a trade deal.

Okay just recently I got back into trading and two of my recent trades ended . . . well with them both giving me beta keys in exchange for full games and I tried messaging them to talk to me (Since I wasn't made aware of either of these games only being temporary for my account) but almost 24 hours have passed and I'm wondering would I be right in making a complaint with Steam Rep or was it my fault and I should just let it slide (BTW one of the trades has an EXTREMELY high rep on the trade site . . . which I won't mention the name of the site to avoid the calling out rule)

Games in question were Hell Warders and Post Human W.A.R

As negative as that sounds I know that, but I guess I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since if I was in that position I would let them know it's only the Beta key and would either give it away or trade it away for cents

When I redeemed them I found out they were beta keys

One of the guys told me that it still adds the +1 and it may say beta, but that's probably because it's Early Access.

Well, some games give you a closed beta access if you preorder, so maybe that's the case, maybe you should ask in the game discussion\forum on steam

Well one of them was already removed and when I loaded up Post Human W.A.R it told me that it was only the Beta and I would only have access until June 30th after that I would have to delete the game and buy it from their Itch.Io page or Steam Page to get the full game.

Yeah. I already put -Rep on their Steam Trades and I guess it's a matter of screen capping what small pieces of the conversations remain to post it on SteamREP

If you have access tot the mobile app check there as you may have more extensive chat logs available. Some of my mobile chat logs go as far back as July 2016.

Well they aren't big games they are indie games and while one of them I should've realized it wasn't a full key the other one was released and I just assumed he bought it from some buyer site

I'm going to edit the Main Post to include the game names.

Interesting - yeah those look garby enough to be potentially free esp. the 2nd one.
Whats now in the open is what you offered for those, then i could have a quality opinion about it. :D

Well for Hellwarders (The unreleased one) I gave him Dino Run and for the other one it was Move or Die.

I see hmm Hellwarders for Dino Run wouldn't make sense in value - assuming Hw. is going to be 25$+,
as for the other Move or Die for Post Human W.A.R that sure seems deceptive/scummy.

Yeah it was the classic "Too good to be true" scenario for Hell Warders, but yeah other guy hasn't messaged me back to respond about the game. First guy did and I already spoke to him. I told him I didn't want anything, but to let him know he should've told me from the beginning it was only temporary.

Well you got scammed mate, report them on SteamREP and -rep on steamtrades, just make sure they weren't impersonators.

Well I checked them both out on SteamREP and they both came out clean and as I said one of the guys had a really high trade rep on the site so I didn't think it would be a bad trade.

Well with impersonators I mean did you check that the reps they send were really theirs? Sometimes people impersonate other profiles to scam people.

I never ask for their rep. I have Enhanced Steam so during the trade I go into their profile and check their Steam Rep to see if anythings fishy. Though now after more research one of the guys has over 1K rep, but has pulled this before so that is my fault for not being more cynical of him.

Seems one of them already was and SteamREPs didn't flag their account so I guess all I can do is just accept the bad trade and just let others know and just be more wary of future trades.

Well every report helps mate, maybe 10 other people thought the same and now he's still going, if those 10 people had reported him he might've been flagged.

I've traded with them twice before and never had an issue. I'm curious as to why you've marked the trade as complete if you didn't receive what the actually offer said? Also seems that Post Human W.A.R has been given away somewhere for free in the past 48 hours.

I redeemed the key and didn't ask them if it was permanent and since I marked the trade as complete I can't exactly take it back so I have to deal with that. Though I am not really on gaming sites or what have you so I didn't know that Post Human W.A.R had been given away for free recently or else I wouldn't have accepted the trade.

I guess it's one of those "shit happens" moments you'll just take into account the next time you trade with someone. I've also traded a game before and about an hour later I found out it had been given away for free. If you have everything Steamrep needs from you to verify a report then go ahead and report them. In the future, though, I'd just suggest to always double check everything and never mark a trade as completed or give positive rep until everything is settled. There are a lot of fair traders out there but unfortunately, there are just as many who'll try to rip you off or scam you.

Yeah. I guess after 3 years of trading this was bound to happen with me getting this kind of trade eventually. Thankfully it was nothing big and it was just a learning experience and In the future I won't mark trades as complete until I am fully satisfied with the answer. Thank you for your input.
