Since I have to RMA my HD7850 (second time in ~7 months, hate you ATI...), I'd like to take advantage of the integrated GPU on my i3-2120. I'm totally new to this stuff, how do I do it? Just remove the 7850 and launch my PC without it? Where to plug the monitor?:D

I guess... But probably still better than the only replacement card I have - geforce 6100 :D

It is better than that, but u have to understand and minimize your expectencies , those integrated graphic cards , especially HD 2000 , are made for office purposes, where u don't really need a dedicated graphic card.

Sucks that your 7850 broke down on u, but the difference between the two are astronomical .

Yeah I know, but the last time it broke down I used 6100 and even Spectromancer was lagging...

If you enjoy a good game of minesweeper, or maybe solitaire, you're going to be fine... :)

But the games you bought the 7850 for will either fail completely, or be a slideshow. Windows desktop is fine, office is fine, but for any 3d action games turn down the resolution, set every graphic option to "ugly" and cry while you wait for the RMA... :(

One example of depressing benchmarks here. Hope your replacement card comes soon!

I approve this message, being stuck with it on my laptop for quite a while, I can safely say that it hardly runs anything. The desktop version will be slightly more poweful, plus you have an i3 whereas I have some older Sandy Bridge type processor.

Just want to say I'm not sure why you blame ATI (that is, AMD). It's the graphics card company (EVGA, MSI, ...) that's at fault here, not the makers of the chip.

Really? I'm not convinced... BTW it's Gigabyte that provides 36 months of warranty and that epic windforce cooler.

BTW I hate ATI also for the fact it doesn't work well with some games... Like Rage or AC3.

ATI does not exist anymore. It was bought by AMD and all the people that used to work for ATI now work for AMD.

Oh and if you aren't satified with your 7850, I would happily buy it from you for a fair price.

Yeah, sorry for my ignorance about ATI being bought by AMD. But it's still ATI, just under AMD name, isn't it?

I'm planning to use i3 & 7850 for a year. Then I think I'll switch to i5 and gtx670.

Well it turned out my mainboard (ASRock P67 Pro3) doesn't support integrated graphic cards, so I had to plug that geforce 6200 (yes, it's 6200, not 6100, sorry :))

AMD HD 7850 has the best bang for your buck. XFX offers cards with a lifetime warranty which is good for the duration of your lifetime and not the lifetime the card is available on the market like PNYs warranty. Intel Core i3-2120 and AMD HD 7850 is well balanced and so is the next upgrade Intel Core i5-3570k and nVIDIA GeForce GTX 670. Also the Intel Core i5-3570k has Intel HD 4000 Integrated Graphics while the Intel Core i5-3570 has Intel HD 2500 Intergrated Graphics. If upgrading the motherboard and after Q2 2013 the Haswell Intel Core i5-4670k or after Q3 2013 6 core Ivy Bridge-E Intel Core i7-4930k may be a worth while upgrade
