Not a bug. They didn't remove it because it has 5 level badge and 1 foil badge(not repeatable like the other sale badges) since 2013(July 11-22 sale).

Something weird is going on. All my special sale items (cards, backgrounds, emoticons) from 2013 to 2016 have disappeared from my inventory.

EDIT: Tried pulling some items back from the market, they're not showing as well.

It's probably some kind of an inventory bug. They'll sort it out soon.

Ahhh I thought I was the only one as I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere but they are there don't worry, I was going to change my background to my yearly Christmas theme but couldn't find it in inventory, I went on my profile settings and they showed up there instead thankfully! I thought I was going mad as I was searching through my market history trying to see if I accidentally sold them lol
