Basically what Ikkimura said: go for the borders and ovious colours that go together, finishing up with the background pieces.
Also, a couple of months ago I purchased a bigger 4k monitor to replace my smaller full HD one, and I noticed a good improvement in my Jigidi times (maybe 25% faster solving, if not more). I seem make the top 10 a lot easier now. That's because I can fit a lot more pieces on my screen while not having to zoom out too much. I obviously didn't by the monitor for Jigidi's, but can help to explain why some people are faster, besides skill and experience.
That all said the time doesn't interest me much, as long as I'm having fun I don't really care about the time. Look at it from another point: if you solve a puzzle in 1 hour while the others did it in 20 minutes; you had an hour of fun, and the others only had 1/3rd of the fun :).

I can only back up Giesber's comment. I'm using a QHD monitor(TN but with a quite good colour palette) and it's much much easier than on my old 19''. With a good screen you see more pieces, they have more details and you can distinguish even slight differences in colours. It wasn't the case in this image, but sometimes it's also worth to change the background to improve contrast(I've solved jigidis where I used 3-4 background colours for this exact reason)
It would be nice to try a jigidi on a 32'' 4k IPS panel at some point

That's true, I swear, I am trying as fast as I can, and trying to stay focused, and that's pretty much my typical speed for a puzzle of this size, more time for ones that have big patches of ambiguous colors. I don't understand how some people are so fast--not the autosolvers, but the people who are < 20. Heck, even 20-30 min solves are impressive for this size.

Don't know why the script was created in the first place. Probably another reason. Making it public and keeping it updated is done by someone else and not the original creator. But in the end I don't care why. Like in relationships, if you start to play a detective, then it might be time to just move on.

Shame about the cheaters. Glad you're keeping the jigidis going though :)
