Welp, guess I just call it Kick@ss when mentioning it on steam.

Oh dear. So is a shitstorm going to erupt because Steam does not desire its service to be complicit in people's criminal lives, when the media industry continually exerts pressure on governments?

Like, seriously. Is it so difficult, if you need to share a torrent with somebody to just send the torrent file through, say, Skype, or upload it to some third party service not directly tied to piracy. Or better yet, just get the info hash for them to paste into their client and skip the whole linking business?

you really want Valve to support illegal stuff? look the $#!+storm hatred riled up for steam just by being greenlit.

Why wouldn't they censor out torrent sites? People who have to sell games for a living normally don't support people who steal them. It's even in the ToS that you can get a community ban if you endorse piracy.

Now if only they'd block level 0s with private profiles. Wait, that would actually be useful. never happen.

Couldn't they have removed all mentions of Kick-ass 2 instead?

Use KAT.PH then, it's shorter to write anyway.

aren't discussions involving torrents anywhere in the community against Steam's ToS?

But it is interesting how they are only censored in private chats and not in group ones. You can even post a full torrent link from kickass.to and everyone can see it. It would make more sense to censor them in group chats, but not in private messaging. It would make even more sense to not censor anything at all.
Whatever conversation I'm having with the other party in a private chat is no one's business but ours.

Since when does Torrent = piracy? It can, but it is not always the case.
