Spent the last hour looking for my discs, but all I can find is is Generals (PC) and Red Alert (PS1), along with some other games. Bah. How am I supposed to have some fun with an RTS if I can't find my discs? :(

Edit - And just found 2 copies of the original C&C. I didn't even know I had two copies.

With my finances in their current state, new purchases aren't an option.

And 5 copies? Crazy. :P

If only those were compatible with Windows without doing some annoying stuff, I'd try them at this point.

LOL! Same. I still have the Doom shareware disks that were given to me many years back. I just can't ditch nostalgia like that. <3

Awesome!

I found mine while looking through my books, since I had it tucked neatly away in my book shelf. Seems that's the safest place for anything of value in my room. It was in a case with my Doom II CD, which was sadly lacking the activation code needed to unlock it. Bah! :u

I have the other Doom games on CDs as well. Don't remember needing a key for those games though.

Oh, I see why now! It's the Doom II: Mater Levels expansion disk, which needed an unlock code for the second Doom if you didn't own it. Makes it easier to jump right into things if you don't have a copy of Doom 2, but it's such a pain in the ass if you lose your reg key. Especially if you do so several years after you bought it. lol

I'll have to pick that up during the next sale on Steam. Hopefully it goes for around 70% off at least, that way I can buy gift copies!

But for now I suppose I'll just play the Killing Floor mod that allows you to play the classic Doom II episodes.

Datacaps are preventing me from trying the first two, and Warhammer didn't really hit it off with me. I have to admit, when I name RTS games I love, they tend to be older titles I'm more likely to see on GoG.

As a Red Alert and Age of Empires (1 / Rise of Rome / 2 / Conquerors) fan, let me tell you. Company of Heroes is awesome.

But I really want to play RA2 and AoE Rise of Rome again, but I haven't a clue where the discs are. Have a suspicion I gave away them to someone...

Damn, I know how that is. I've been looking for my Sanitarium disks for what seems like forever. I am so tempted to just buy if off of GoG.com later if it goes on sale when I have the money. That's what I had to do when I couldn't find my copy of Anachronox. Thankfully it was on sale when I wanted to play it, which made me very happy. :)

Best of luck with your search, Delta! Hopefully we both manage to find our games soon enough.

I had to throw hundreds of game CDs and DVDs away when I moved.
I tried selling them all on ebay but no one wanted them even at just the cost of postage.

I think a load of the older C&C games were officially marked as 'freeware' a few years ago anyway.

note that the first few games (tiberian conflict, tiberian sun, red alert) are freely available from EA itself - it's a bit of a pain to find the links, but they are still up ;)

C&C Red Alert 2 as well as Tiberian Sun are Free-Downloads since last year i think.
U lost the CD's? Just download it. I could only give you links to german pages that host the download, but this is official. Just google it and you should find the DL-Links.

Thanks, I was after Red Alert 2, but I guess that EA haven't given up their grasp on that and released it into the free yet.

Unless the link you posted was for 2 and just doesn't mention it?

The Cover shown is for 2, isnt it? Im really not a C&C Fan, so i cant anwser you that, a few friends of mine just were super bumped as they saw it is FTD now, that was all i remembered when i saw the thread :)

No worries, I might download it after my exams and play it anyway, thanks for the link.

Given it is a German site, they might have a different box art and it might well be the second one. The text on the image says 'Teil 2: Alarmstufe Rot'... Based off my awesome German GCSE skills, Teil is Part and Alarmstuffe is (probably) Alert and Rot is Red.

Part 2: Alert Red? Could well be the second one actually.

it's RA1 - back when it came out in germany it was released as C&C part 2: Red Alert (with Tiberian Conflict as part 1) - only later they changed to seperate numbering.

for the links to the official downloads from EA see my post above ;) note however that Red Alert 2 wasn't released for free, only Tiberian Conflict, Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 1 were

(note that the classics page itself was taken down when the C&C site was revamped a while ago, but the downloads are still up - there's just nothing linking to them anymore)
