to be precise, for every 3rd successfully received feedback mark (3rd giveaway) you gain an additional slot.
additionally if you delete any giveaways you will lose that slot that was used to create that giveaway. or if you send an invalid key and it remains uncorrected a not received mark will lose the slot as well.

Slot is occupied when you create a giveaway, until winner marks your giveaway as received. That does include giveaway deletions as well, you're not gaining those slots back. Creating a giveaway = slot occupied until you deliver that giveaway.
For every 3 received marks, you get +1 extra slot.
