do a lot of people have it on steam? I did feel that I need to include 1 RTS game but I really don't know which one to chose (thought abt Company of Heroes)

I've never played any C&C titles so I really don't know, but if there's actually a group of people want to play/compete that game then sure, I'll add it

Not able to take part right now, but I'll follow with interest! :D

It's pretty much a few tournaments on different games with small prizes for the winners.

I am a world renowned Worms Revolution player, with a burning hatred of poor organisation, and amateur event management.
That said, I would love to bring my annelid annihilating abilities to your tournament.

the goal of playing worms is simply making fun of you and your friends, that's why I picked it. A more professional could be used as a replacement if people don't like worms. But an invite is on your way!

Haha! Thanks :)
As I say, I'm not very good so there should be plenty of opportunity to make fun of my risible gaming skills, but it sounds entertaining, and if somebody enjoys ruthlessly destroying my poor little lumbricidae, so much the better :D

I have a serious overheat problem with battlefront 2. I did everything people suggest from untick CPU 1 from task manager to the headphone-stereo tip. After 2 (max is 3) matches, regardless of the length or multi/single player, my computer shut down by itself becuz it was too hot =='

correct but I want a wider range of players, make a dota-centric event would alienate many people

giveaway
Some of you might remember the thread I made ~2 days ago about making a tournament on SG.
From the feedback, what I got is that you guys believe it might be too ambitious and requires a huge amount of resources. However, I ain't give up on this project given its huge potential to the SG community.
That's why I created the SG Tournament Prototype 1.0 as the first prototype for my idea. The group is quite empty now so I need your help!
It's a private group since I only want to test the idea on a limited scale first.
In the next 2 weeks there will be at least 3 events = 3 games and 3 ways to supervise the events (recording the match/ streaming the match/ have a supervisor as a spectator)
In the next 2 weeks, here are the games I believe would be the perfect test samples:
CS:GO - a mod will be a spectator, there can be multiple winners
Worms Revolution - streaming - some of you might wonder why I picked this...it's just a fun thing to watch actually, but if people in the group prefer sth professional then I'll replace it with sth else
Trial Evolution - recording
How to have these games in a competition will be discussed later in the group.
edit: alternative: DOTA 2 (even though I have no freakin' idea how to play it), TF2, Left 4 Dead 2 (I don't think this game is good for competitive, maybe comparing surviving time rather than play in versus mode)
So, if you want to participate in this small test of mine
In the comment section below, state your experience with streaming/recording video games.
State your experiences with one out 3 games listed above, do you have much expertise in them?
Are you going to be nice to a person who is pretty amateurish in organizing such events like me?
Here are some important points you should read if you are willing to join:
Right now I consider the maximum number of members in the group to be 20 and I also need some mods though some participants can also be mods.
You don't need to be super good in the games or anything, just be persuasive in the comment section below about how important it is for me to have you in this little test of mine.
Because this is only a prototype thingy, prizes are fairly small, I am right now thinking about just some bundled games. Therefore, the groups accept any donations. Sponsors in the group would be appreciated, maybe get to play a bigger role in the next events. (a little bit clarification here, I don't want to scam anyone here so the gifters/donors have to do the deed of giving away the prize themselves either in the form of a giveaway or giving a key/tradable copies to the winner(s))
That's all folks, I hope this small experiment of mine could go smoothly and therefore I'd be able to make a larger event in the future for SG!
