Why do you hate SG?

Things would work a whole lot better if there was some sort of check in place to ensure that people at least understood the basics before letting them loose on the site.

IMO a short quiz on the fundamental rules as part of the registration procedure would be a very welcome addition.

I was thinking, maybe the F.A.Q. or the finer points could be added as an EULA or something, then when users click "I understand" and join, they can be shit on for not actually reading it when they start a thread asking questions.

But then when Newuserbean384(fictional, i hope) is called an idiot and told to leave this site for not reading the F.A.Q. he is rightly told so, as the F.A.Q. was right in front of his face and he, instead of reading it, scrolled down and clicked "i understand".

Fake giveaways, people complaining they never win, people who are just rude and dickish in general, elitists, trolls, the site seems to go down a lot for me, the filter could be improved... none of these things make me HATE SG but there's always room for improvement. And things like assholes and trolls are everywhere on the Internet so it's not really a complaint.

I think this is definitely one of the nicer communities on the Internet that I've been part of though, and one that can generally tolerate the various opinions of others, which is nice.

The mathematical phenomena working behind the scenes in the site, making me always, or rather, most of the time, have a chance of less than 0.1% to win. But I still like it though. Who doesn't like things for free, and games at that. :)
