No. Its against the rules.

No, the rules clearly state that you have to redeem all games that you win.

^^^ This.

You probably want to read the FAQ so that you know the rules of the site.

Yes, If you want to get suspended.
No, If you dont want to get suspended.

-Whatever you win from here it should-and-must-be activated to your steam account and only.

Hm, i always got the same question. But slighty different:
If i win a game here, can i give it to a lovely friend in my Steam friend list?

Never got the balls to ask it, lol.

Funny enough when someone just drop the key into your e-mail.
How could someone know if you redeemed it or not? (In the case above, of course)

Have a nice day :)

no. your account. if your lovely friend in your Steam friend list wants a game he may enter GA himself.

and people can simply check ur steam profile for activated games.

frankly, not being able to give to a friend is a shitty rule.

1 decade ago
Permalink

No, because then the next thing you know "giving to a friend" turns into trading and/or selling, and now you've just opened up a whole new can of worms.

Your friend should just come and enter for themself then.

Yeah, i agree with the rule about giving the game to a friend. But what you said makes sense too.

Thanks :)

like zelghadis says, if someone looks at your profile sees you won the game but its not on your steam games list. you will be reported and suspended

Yeah, i know that, but i mean if the gifter just drops the key into your e-mail account.

If you recieve a game and purposefully refuse to mark it as recieved, you'll be suspended. If you recieve a game and don't activate it, you'll be suspended. If you do both, god help you.

No.

By looking at your Steam account, unless it's private. Even if it is, you need to be public every week or two for the system to look at your games list. I assume the staff have could look at this information to see if you redeem your gifts or not if they had a reason to suspect you (like, by saying in public you don't want to redeem gifts and are hoping there's a loophole...). There may not be an easy way to do it, but at the very least it should be possible to look at the database entry directly.

I say to you NO, i didnt read the rules in the past, and i got a suspension for "regifting", so take my advice!

But, what if he won game e.g. 2 years ago, didn't bothered to check profile and now he have the same game to give away.

1 decade ago
Permalink

if he won a game, marked as received and its not on his list of games (or one of those broken games that never show there) he will get suspended if mod sees it

then it would also be on that individuals steam account. I have several times given away a game I won, because after activating, and playing it I enjoyed it so much that I wanted someone else to also have the opportunity to enjoy it. This is different than regifting, because you are giving a new copy, not the one you won.

The question is: Why would you enter a Giveaway for a game, which you wouldn't play? I can't see the logic here.

1 decade ago
Permalink

To try and profit off of someone else's generosity of course!

Lest we forget all the regifting debacles surrounding the featured giveaways, especially when they're 500+ copies

No you can't. Stupid-ass pointless rule, but them's the breaks, lol!

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

How is that stupid? You're trying to win a game just to profit off of someone else's gift?

If you don't want the game, don't enter! What's the point of giving away a game that was already being given away besides trying to farm CV from it?

It's not pointless at all...

I've never liked sites that allow you to re-gift games that you've won...

It's an especially good rule for this site because of the CV system, it's completely unfair for someone to gain CV from someone else spending the actual money.

Finally, no one is forcing you to use this site, if you don't like the rules here you're free to go to another site and follow their rules.

Question: "It's against the rules to GA a free game? i mean that person can be banned?" I read the FAQ and it didn't said nothing about it.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There are limitations. The giveaways tend to be removed as an option quickly, and if you make a giveaway for multiple copies, you will get in trouble, but a single copy can normally be accepted.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

its not against rules, only that those games tend to get put into bundle list with date when game became free, so all those ppl get no CV for it, at least untill they back it up with normal giveaways

Can I read FAQ?
YES, and you should (red FAQ I mean, not regift)

1 decade ago
Permalink

You cannot win a giveaway then turn around give the game away rather than redeem it to your Steam account.

What you CAN do is win something here, add it to your account, then procure another copy of the game you won and give THAT away. I did that with Fortix once. I bought a copy from Steam and gave it away after previously winning a copy here and adding it to my account.

No, just no. Everything you win here must be activated on your own Steam account. Anything else should result in a suspension.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, if it is a the same game that you did not redeem, but yes if you redeemed the game you won a while ago and then decided to giveaway the same game in the future

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Rules are if you won it you must redeem it on your account.

If however you mean if its the same game but a different copy of said game then yes that is allowed.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, you must activate the game you won, or it is ground for suspension. If you mean give a copy of the same game you won, then yes, you can, as long as you have the game you won activated.

What's the point in winning a game to give it away? If you don't like the game you'll eventually win, do not join the giveaway :I

Is it just to get some cv? geez spend 1$ in a random bundle you instantly get 30$cv if you care that much about it.

Same thing with friends, let them join and win their own games, or just gift them a copy of the game yourself >_<

100% to be suspended twice, actually. "Not activating won gift" plus "regifting" on top of it.
