same here, since my ps1 is actually some kind of console dropped by some old friend of mine who never wanted it back.. so SNES is still my most recent console and well my early teenage years were made by donkey kong country 1's intro (the 2nd and 3rd titles were already seen like something extremely innovative by myself xD)

I love this so damn much, I remember playing this game a lot when I was a kid, can't wait to replay it again soon. The soundtrack is especially amazing, really sets up the mood for a great adventure.

I'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy franchise. This may sound weird but part 8 is the one I liked the least but for some reason the opening scene with Squall battling Siefer has been stuck in my head for many, many years and I'm not sure why. This is far from my favorite but I wanted to mention it cause the lasting impression it had on me.

The intro (and the game) is THAT great
Interesting trivia : In the 2004 Summer Olympics, the American synchronized swimming team used "Liberi Fatali", the FFVIII intro music, in their performance and earned a bronze medal, I watched it live, epic times for the fans of the game.

As far as the game goes I think the art style(non cut scene) really hurt the game for me. It was so different than all the other FF games before it, it just didn't remind me of a FF game.. at least that's what I recall. It should of been great to me like when FFVII came out and made a huge jump from what previous FF titles were but it just wasn't for some reason and honestly, I really don't know why. I remember I loved the card game in it. Maybe I just need to buy it somewhere down the road on Steam and play it again.
