Won a giveaway but received a beta key is it a bannable offence?

Beta Testing means the key was generated before the release of the game. It doesn't necessarily means that the game will expire.

Its the same game as everyone who got after the release has.

Don't worry. 99% sure you're fine. There are cases the key means its only for the beta phase, but that will look like "Closed Beta" in the activate window or something like that.

That really depends. Some games even thou it says beta key when you redeem it in steam works as normal game key, specially if it is not yet officially released.

You can mark it as received and if the rights to the game is revoked in steam at some point then contact the giveaway creator if he/she doesn't want to fix the issue then mark it as not received.

That was a key given for promotion purposes, but generated before the official release of the game on Steam. It is the complete game and it will never expire.

You'll need to be more specific with the title of the game. Some are removed from your library after beta, some are not.
