It's a pretty great season overall. I haven't seen Youjo Senki but it seems a lot of people love it. It looks a bit edgy but the premise sounds like it could be fun.
Fuuka turned me off after the first few minutes of the first episode. And I think reading the manga for Kuzu no Honkai was enough for me. That sensei

At this point I'm only interested in Ao No Exorcist, though I'm waiting for it to finish airing so I can watch it on my own time. The first season is, ratings-wise, tied for 2nd on my Anime-Planet list (admittedly, it's tied with about a dozen other things, but still). This season retcons out the stupid anime ending and covers one of my favorite story arcs, so I'm really excited for it.
Everything else this season either looks "meh" or is a sequel/continuation of something I haven't seen yet. So anything else I watch right now is going to be older. -shrug-

Some of these shows are anime originals or based off novels and not manga or light novels. They do tend to get manga adaptations after or during anime production to make more sales.

I initially liked it because it seemed to be the only series doing the fan service panty shots this year. Then I learned of the Suzuka connection and started watching that and Fuuka's parents are just two horrible people... a dumb idiot for a father and an unrelenting mass of anger for a mother.
So i stopped watching both shows after a few episodes and decided to watch 3 Leaves 3 Colors over and over again... and my life has been better for it.

Of his works, I've read Kimi no Iru Machi and it started off okay, but it overstayed it's welcome. I read it a long time ago and vaguely remember the characters but I remember getting frustrated when the main girl suddenly goes away and starts dating the hospitalized friend.

Lucky Star and Haruhi are made by the same studio Kyoto Animation, and Lucky Star was made after Haruhi, and since its humor is based on cultural references, they decided to ride the Haruhi wave that was occurring at the time.
Kannagi is animated by Studio Ordet which was founded by the director Yamamoto Yutaka of the first four episodes of Lucky Star. Ordet also animated the spin-off of Lucky Star called Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku.

5 shows is still quite a lot for a season! I haven't caught up on 3-gatsu, but Hibike S2 is definitely good! After the Mizore-Nozomi arc, they explore more of Asuka's character and her motivations, and there's a particular highlight episode directed by Taichi Ishidate and newcomer Animation director Akiko Takase who will be taking the reigns on Violet Evergarden.

It's almost mid-season for Winter 2017 in anime.
This season seems to be full of comfy Slice of Life and comedy shows with Demi-chan wa Kataritai, Little Witch Academia, Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon and Gabriel Drop-out. And we have the season of the sequels with KonoSuba, Ao no Exorcist and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu.
