Are you already craving for a PIN?
...Stanley would have been rather excited to get such a rare pin. Of course, he's been lured away by the promises of stamps these days.

Stanley was enthralled by the idea of adding another rare pin to his collection. He thought, it would look great amongst the pins he got for his work of pushing buttons in his office for years. But then, this is just a suggestion. So Stanley returned to his desk to press more buttons, in hopes for a new award pin for his work.

Pinning threads would be a really nice idea. Would love to keep certain threads at the top. I'm all in icaio :)

Cheers missdefi. I am catching up on the 200+ messages from my thread and I am slowly making my way through them. Sorry for the delayed response.

Though, the main issue for pinned/top threads in every forum since the '90s is.. that for some reason that I still have to figure out, they all get ignored by everyone even if they have some kind of different image and glowing symbols xD
Usually they contain something important, like sub-forum rules, announcements, something personally related to someone crucial in the forum and so on but.. they all get no views ahah :)

SG will only pin the ones specific to them but it will be a good way for people to make sure announcements and such stay up so people can be informed about site changes.

I personally would rather not look at the pinned posts every day I open the discussions for years to come, so I'm not exactly in for the idea of server-sided pins. Especially that afaik there is not a single one that is relevant to the site's working or having info in it (like an FAQ or rules), so it's not like they would carry benefit for new users, to be seen immediately and all the time.
On the other hand, an extra forum category with "pinned" posts wouldn't be that bad, it could be relatively easily ignored (and not taking up precious space) if someone just wants to check deals and general/off topic to read some.

"pinned" category? really nice, adam.
thought about "pins" after seeing xarabas shirt giveaway thread. he's from Support, so shouldn't be a big problem for him to "get a pin".
thought also: what if "Mods and/or Support" gifts you (Member) a pin when is your factory/cake day?
still, i really like your idea, tell me if i'm wrong: would be that something like a "Recommended Threads" category?

Just an extra to here (attached), named pinned, Recommended Threads, bookmarks, or as people / staff would decide. It would be a hassle to decide exactly what would/could be added, but some social (or giveaway-oriented, let's face it) like You're Not Alone and Positive Thread, community-game like Guess The Game 2: Gamers in Paradise, or public service-like topics like MASTER LIST of ongoing bundles ❤. WIth a separate category they would have a page of their own to fill up so it wouldn't be a balancing act of pinning 3 or 4 and taking up 3 or 4 lines on the main discusssions page permanently. I'm not sure if there is a real need for it, but it wouldn't be pushed into anyone's face, yet they would be available with a single click, and (I still don't have any idea about websites) the system for the categories is already existing, so expanding and mod-moving topics there is maybe? possible?

the "SG Pins Committee" will gift pins to well crafted, well manned, well handled, ... deep fried (tender inside) and juicy threads.
