I'm giving away a Metro 2033 Redux key that I got from Nuuvem but there's a chance it's region locked to Brazil only. The Nuuvem page for 2033 Redux doesn't mention anything but the pages for Last Light Redux and Redux Bundle do. Should I delete the giveaway or wait until it's over and see if the winner can activate it? What happens if they can't activate it?

If they can't activate it, you're in risk of getting suspended if you can't provide a non region restricted form of Metro 2033 Redux for the winner to activate.

I'd say close the giveaway and put a South America restriction just in case, if you decide to give it away here. There's quite a few of us in here to join SA giveaways so that won't be an issue :P

In the end, it's up to you if you want to take that risk or not. Best case scenario, you get a temporary suspension and a mark on your profile of a gift not sent. But that's a stretch. Worst case scenario you made someone really sad and lost your SG account.

Edit: Actually, if it says the game is locked to Brazil, even SA restriction might not be enough and you'd be taking a risk there. How bout contacting Nuuvem support to ask if there's any restriction on the key and closing the giveaway in the meantime? If it ends up as it being non restricted then you can give it away at a later time. If it's BR only, then your best bet is giving it away personally, not through SG or trying to trade it for something else to giveaway here.

The problem is it's not even a SA region lock. It's a BR region lock.

Yeah, realized that after posting and added an edit.

At least let me get my points back before you do, damn.

Sorry, I already did it. :/ You don't get it back if it's deleted?

I believe not, I hear it's a "bug" or something. If it was more than 12P then no I didn't get them back.

Didn't get em either but c'mon, they're points. We get tons of em everyday to the point that you can't not login for a day if you want to be under the cap.

I wasn't seriously mad or anything, though it does bother me that the system works like that and that it kees the deleted giveaways in your entered giveaway list without an option to dismiss them.

Yeah, sucks, but meh. Lots of points to go around anyway. I can join giveaways with a 3 day buffer usually so if something comes up and I'm outta points I just leave those.

It was 25P. I'm really sorry.

Don't feel sorry, just don't. If you stay on this website a little while longer you'll know why.

No need to feel sorry, as I said above it wasn't a serious comment or anything, though now you know it works like that!

Not a bug. Points are free. Deal with it.

Oh tell me more about the hidden secrets of Steamgifts! I bet you had a lot of discussions where you found out about those? Must be some important 50 comments you made during the year you are registered and considering your ratio you probably know more about entering than I do too! Teach me everything.

Nice ad hominem. I do indeed read more than I do comment, and at times I believe it makes perfect sense because of rather hostile people like yourself right now. I would also think that lurking for a while before "intruding" in a community would be proper etiquette, but that is aside the point. Anyway, yes I indeed read that before SGv2 it did give back the points when a giveaway got deleted. I see your account is 3 months old, congratulations! :^)

Of course I am rather hostile when you are whining about free points. You don't even get to know why most people delete their giveaways and one time a guy takes it to the forum just to hear someone complaining about something as unimportant as points he lost. The creator actually felt sorry for it! Good job.

I already said that I wasn't serious, and even then some people learned something new about how SG works so I'd even dare to say that something good came out of it. Good job blowing it out of proportion if we are going there.

Well, I missed that apparently and should probably admit to doing so but I rather don't 'cause I enjoy ranting. B)

If you end up contacting Nuuvem and they say it's non restricted, I'd make sure to get proof of it like screenshots or such, just in case you have to appeal with SG support if there's an issue later.

Just to be of some help, if this is the sub https://steamdb.info/sub/44155/ then it is BR-locked indeed. These are all the packages that contain Metro 2033 Redux: https://steamdb.info/app/286690/subs/
In http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/HBLwY/metro-redux-bundle-r1398-brazil-only you can see some comments that talk about what the flags mean.

They don't give suspensions for undelivered games, you just get the giveaway marked unreceived and lose the slot.

Depends on the case. I've seen some where the creator knowingly didn't deliver the game as advertised and got suspended. One of them permanently.

Don't know exactly how support decides it, so you do run the risk of getting suspended. Maybe it depends on if people report it or not?

In all likelyhood, it was probably due to rules being broken that were unrelated to the giveaway. I've never heard of support suspending because of undelivered games, the slots just get eaten up as a penalty.
