With the collapse of our civilization imminent, here are my thoughts about how to survive

I'm really good at foraging for food. Mushrooms and so forth. I'd be fine without cannibalising anyone...

I felt a bit disappointed when I found out that it's really not an actual form to join an outlaw gang. Q~Q I was so ready to go Mad Max already. :l

Lol, so this is probably where I jump the shark. But I 100% believe economic collapse, leading to societal collapse is coming. If you are in a city, odds are you are dead in the first month. If you are in the northern region, and have no cold weather survival skills, you too are likely dead. If you are awake and aware, and pay any kind of attention, and dont have an exit plan, as well as a bug out bag, and basic survival skills, you are doing yourself and your family a huge disservice. Generations past could survive things like the great depression, because everyone still knew how to garden, and can food, and hunt/fish. Most of you today, know how to factory reset an ipod though, so theres that going for you.

I may be an alarmist, and I may be wrong (honestly I hope I am) but I am prepared to take care of my family in the event of the grid going down. People tend to think the government will swoop in and save the day, but so quickly forget how they deal with (on a national scale) small disasters like Katrina. Imagine if we get hit by a solar flare and the entire country loses anything electronic. The north east, has a 10 day supply of food without constant transportation routes. Thats 10 days without a panic, or as anyone who lives here knows, about 6 hours worth of staples when a noreaster is announce.

Take some survival classes, learn to hunt, trap, learn your local flora and fauna. What you can and cant eat, how to treat wounds without pharmecuticals.. How to make penicillin, how to make efficient shelters etc. These are skills that you might never need, but cant survive without if you do need them.

Oh ya, and bump for being accepted to the gang.

We're all doomed, we must begin to build ships - spaceships.

But if it is like the wild west I will surely survive - have decades of experience in the survival of such a place - still live in ...

It's only natural that I'd feed on human flesh :3

Get LOTS of spare batteries to your computer and download every worthwhile Steam game asap. You may die of starvation in a week or two, but you'll have games! Live the (postapocaliptic)life to it's fullest. Short, but fullest :D

I chose Badass outlaw, but in fact I'd rather be a lone badass survivor, fighting off the cannibals one by one.

Maybe eventually build a camp, fortified as well as I can manage. Welcome the less fortunate survivors to join me in building a badass fortress for those who wish to grow potatoes. A last defense, a last civilization. last hope for humanity to regain a foothold in the wild and deadly lands that has become Earth.

Eventually, more people would come, and we would soon enough have a small but well fortified town. Watch tower, fresh water, plots, farms, all that stuff. I would still roam the lands, seeking both survivor potato-growers, and hunting down cannibals. I would found a squad of fighters to protect the town and to hunt down enemies of the humanity.

We'd trade with outlaws (this is survival, it doesn't really matter where the goods come from at this point). Potatoes and foods for clothes, weapons, tools. We would build walls, homes, towers, electricity generators, water pumps, and whatnot. Years later, I would be on my dying bed, and I would pass away, smiling and content of my work. Although much work and struggle would be inevitable in the future, civilization would once again be restored, thanks to a handful of us.

For fuck's sake, what am I typing now? ._.
