It is very interesting talk, lots of info, so I thought maybe some of you folks didn't see it yet and would love to watch it.

Full video: Gabe talks about Artifact

Evertything about Artifact - Pcgamer - you can also see some screenshots of gameplay and artworks

Found some first gameplay footage

Game will be released at end of 2018 running on Source 2 and it is also coming on IOS and Android in 2019 (using source 2 engine there too), Valve at mobile market!

As Dota player, I was already interested in game, but after this info, I really can't wait to try it, I also trust Valve when it comes to fair monetesation and game balance.

"If Blizzard is making a ton of money from its dumbed down Magic, and even Zenimax managed to earn a bit with an even dumber version, then by boy howdy, we are jumping on that free money train, since our followers are the most zealous and richest of them all!"
Of course, we totally need a high-end new engine for a card game, this way we can pretend Valve is still a game developer company and not just a platform to get fees for texture file transactions.

Don't forget Gwent, which is my favorite virtual card game presently. There is also the series of games published by Wizards of the Coast. Then there's a bunch of small time and indie options, including several that are mobile exclusive and have quite large player bases.

Valve is definitely jumping into a crowded market. I can see why they did it, though. They will basically be printing money with all of the Steam Market transactions this will generate from people buying and selling cards.

So sad. When my kids get older, I'll tell them there was once a great game developer named Valve that one day decided they liked money more than making games.

Whoa, you're pretty optimistic! Hope it doesn't disappoint you :O

Personally, I'm still a little annoyed by it. Because Valve sure listened to what fans wanted from them... a TCG! And for mobile, too!

But hey, at least they're making something again.

Seriously though Valve is dead to me, they're the personification of pure greed.
