Have you heard of Bolivia? Yes! the country with no access to the sea.

Well, if you are unaware of what's happening, Evo Morales "won" the elections.
Thing is, for starters, he's been president for thirteen years, which is unconstituional. This year, however, it is worse because some years ago there was a referendum to decide if he was allowed to run for president once again and the results were no. He didn't care and still ran for it.
Now, back to the past Sunday (the 20th), when the counting of votes was at 83% the results showed that there was going to be a ballotage, but the counting was stopped with no explanation to resume the day after to show an unusual increase in the votes for Evo and declare him winner with no need for a second round.
Of course, people are mad, we don't want him as president any longer, no one should have the power for so long so some cities engaged a civic strike. We are protesting peacefully for democracy and what was his answer? He sent his people with dinamite to block the roads to prevent us from getting food.

And I feel like this is just the beginning…

So, yeah, have some stuff.

Do you have the same thing as Russia, where someone can switch between President and Prime Minister (?) over and over again to stay in power for decades?

I don't think so. What he did was to change the country from a republic to a plurinational state, whatever that means, and said he was president of the republic but no the plurinational state, therefore he was allowed to run again, this year he didn't even give an excuse.

Implying Putin ruined?

The truth is: the US does not have a law preventing from third term, they have a TRADITION since George Washington. Unwritten tradition. Our Constitution was written in early 90-s when we were under the influence of the US, and they added a restriction on 3-rd term, but then things changed, and Putin decided to break the tradition that wasn't even ours, while not breaking our own law.

I do not see a legal problem here.

Putin as President is bad for economy and freedoms? It's another question.

This is false.

2 term limit for president is in the US Constitution since 1951. And President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected to 4 terms prior to the law being changed.

Kudos to admitting you're wrong. You might want to use the opportunity to reflect how in your previous post you wrote "The truth is: [...some wrong stuff...]". Does that make you think what else you could be wrong about that you are very confident it is "true"? How did you end up believing in the thing that turned out to be wrong? Are you trying to find it out and willing to look at your thought processes or is it too uncomfortable?
No need to answer me, the questions can be beneficial to yourself if you want them to, and that's their point. I have to ask these questions myself also. :)

Oh please, I'm Russian, and I have to say that Jaxed is correct. Just take a few minutes and read about the current "Moscow case", for example.

Still, it's also true that the majority are totally fine with out president because they are literally unable to connect mass poverty and siloviki/court mayhem with a figure at the top of the system, he's obviously blameless - and stuff like annexing the part of a neighbor state or the situation with civil rights is totally ok in their minds. We've got a beautiful country with beautiful population.

I did not say anything about he lying or not, I just pointed out the irony and hipocresy of a lot of americans pointing out Russia and Putin as being evil, which I see a lot, while not making any self-criticism about his own country and all the shit they've done. I dont even know JaxedBeing or his nacionality, nor have anything against him.

By the way, me being a spaniard doesnt make me hold the truth about my country, as I can be biased. The same as you being russians. Obviously you know more about the shit happening in your country.

And as I said I really don't know very much about the situation in Russia, all the media here talk about my country or EEUU, and at times Venezuela when elections are coming xD

There was no need to criticize my own country to make a valid point about another. Plus it's just a historically true standard practice of any authoritarian regime. It would be hypocrisy if I had any actual power. So Trump calling out Putin (haha yeah right xD) would be. I am just a citizen like those Russians who can't get new a candidate...except with a little more power to protest or vote but better believe if I step too far out of line they'll squash me too or try anyway. I have my eye on the ridiculous circuses in the US...frankly at this point the US isn't going to solve it's problems without also solving Russia's and many others in one fell swoop(and I'm not talking military force country vs country I mean popular global ground swell from the masses supporting each other clearing out corruption)...wishful thinking I know lol. Btw I was actually born in Spain (somewhere around Cadiz), US military parents so wasn't there long enough to remember.

Nobody knows about this case besides Moscow Region. The life of Russia differs from how Meduza and Lentach depict it.
Approval rating of Putin is actually pretty low because of unpopular reforms and lack of economical growth, so the thesis about fear is bullshit.

Here in Brazil, thankfully, the damn socialism lost government in last year's elections and the new president is finally an honest person, but for more than 20 years Brazil has suffered in the corrupt hands of socialism. These are decades of degradation that will surely take a long time to recover and the country to thrive as it should, and I know that there is still a lot of corruption to be ripped off like cancer, but I feel we are finally on the right track. And believe me, the people together can overthrow any dictator. Where are all these people? The whole ozone hole thing turned out to be a hoax. I am patient, I'll wait till everyone will calm down on global warming, and then I'll remind them.

Romans had a saying: cui prodest? Who is interested in stopping of palm oil production? Who wants China to stop production of fridges? Somebody is always not interested in the prosperity of another. Yes, I agree, trees are nice and stuff, different animals and bugs live under trees and stuff, but no need to destroy all of the Amazonia. Create national parks and do what you need to do to earn money. And then, when you're rich and have more advanced technologies, you can switch to something "green".

In case of Brazil, I'd say forests are bad for you. 2000 years ago entire Europe was covered with forests. Then forests were removed for agricultural means. Nearly all of them. Is Europe now a bad place to live? Remove the forests, dry the swamps, and seek for useful minerals.

I do not even understand how it is possible, they probably count as a square meter of forest every single standing tree. Europe as a region ends on Ural mountains, and Russia is way more forested than EU, just look at the satellite photos. Is it a new definition of Europe, new form of sanctions? Bald Moscow region, then to the east only forests. By looking at satellite photos I'd say 20% EU, 50% Europe. Bureaucrats know how to count, I know, I was one before, before I became enlightened. )

Don't attribute to me what I did not say, it's a low dispute trick. Temperature goes up and down all the time, there where several "small ice ages" in written human history. We can research it on tree circles etc. No convincing evidences that humans significantly influence this temperature growth.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Pontanto a ligação é clara.

They move left from the left, right from the right, while the biggest group of voters is still somewhere in the middle, forced to pick a side based on just a few extreme issues.

I'm not South American and I'm tired of reading lies and bullshit telling just a part of things to deceive others. In September 2017 it was the Supreme Tribunal of Justice to abolish term limits. In November the court ruled in favour of their abolition, citing the American Convention on Human Rights. It is not true that he didn't care and still ran for it. Your post is similar to those made by Brazilian fans of Bolsonaro, now they almost have a dictatorship, a country destroyed and ridiculous in the eyes of the world, with the worst politician of all time. Really also in Bolivia, as long as you don't have a president whose ideas you don't share, do you prefer an idiot who destroys everything he touches? The results and the protests started before the counting of the votes was completed and after that the vice president of Bolivia's electoral board also resigned in an anti-government move. And following excellent models, it is ironic, like Trump and Bolsonaro declared "Bolivia is first". The opposition has acted to cause delays in the completion of the count which are now used as an excuse to ask for a ballotage contrary to the law. Finally Bolivian Foreign Minister Diego Pary announced at a press conference that his country’s government had sent an official note to OAS inviting it to carry out an audit, to check the entire process of vote counting in the presidential election. Secretary-General of the Organization of American States (OAS) Luis Almagro has accepted the Bolivian government’s invitation to carry out an audit of the recent presidential election in the country, amid controversies over the results. This seems to show that the Bolivian government is not trying to hide anything. But this is simply the truth, what is the truth in the face of bullshit force?

It is incredible how much ignorance there is among Bolsonaro fans and how many false news they have spread. Did you read that paper you sent me? Do you understand what is written there? It has nothing to do with the topic of discussion in itself, it is just off topic, it is a criticism of the approximations of some historiographical theories concerning the dictatorship, it does not concern the dictatorship itself. It is also clear in the title in Portuguese: Ditadura militar brasileira: aproximações teóricas e historiográficas.
It is about opinions on dictatorship. I don't care about opinions, I'm interested in facts. And the facts continue to confirm my affirmation on how much the dictatorship is loved by the Bolsonaro family members and by all the idiots who follow them:

Here a source in Portuguese language, I don't think you have the tools to understand, but at least it will be clear once and for all that who is saying bullshit is you.

ConJur

Created in 1997, the electronic magazine Consultor Jurídico (ConJur) is the most influential site about Justice and Law in Portuguese. The site was born to be a source of information about what happens in the courts, offices and daily life of the country under the lens of the judiciary.

Please return to your imaginary world where you are the repository of absolute truth. And bring with you all the bullshit and the Bolsonaro family you love so much, it's just a matter of time and they will all be in prison, because they are criminals, and the real truth will not remain under your bullshit forever.

Let me point out how dumb you are being: visit the republic constitution and read the article 53 which ai'll copy and paste here: Art. 53. Any congress member has imunity on their votes, words and opinions. This extends to the president when he was one. This grants freedom enough to represent any thoughts or ideas, even comunism bullshit. Also, you will never be able to understand the context because you refused to read when I brought one, so I'll not be the one who will tell you to livr the cotton candy world.
Also, you should read read this, because, again, you are looking for validation, not information.
Just a little advice, don't go full retard relying on something you clearly don't know (given the circunstances I would say you "can't" know). The bullshit you rely on is so easy to refute with information or further news, that you are a shame for any average misinformed brazilian when compared to one. As I said before, you're a lost cause and from now on you'll be treated like one.

Don't you feel ashamed to show the whole world how ignorant you are? When I quote a serious source it is validation, when you mention a partial and false news, that less than 24 hours later it is already denied, you call it information. Here is who generated the false news you mentioned: https://theintercept.com/2019/10/31/promotora-caso-marielle-bolsonaro-afastada/
You have once again demonstrated that you don't know to read because in the document published on ConJur it was clearly explained in the part "base aliada": atentar contra a democracia é crime, como prescreve o artigo 5º da Constituição Federal [attacking democracy is a crime, as required by article 5 of the Federal Constitution].

XLIV - constitui crime inafiançável e imprescritível a ação de grupos armados, civis ou militares, contra a ordem constitucional e o Estado Democrático;

But I'm not surprised if you had half a neuron you wouldn't be defending Bolsonaro. I hope for your sake that you can cleanse yourself from brainwashing, that I don't know if they did it to you or you did it yourself. Perhaps you are part of the Bolsonarist militias paid to spread online bullshit. I don't know and I don't want to know. But I guarantee you that as long as you keep saying bullshit I'll show you every time what you say is nothing but bullshit.

I now understand why they call people like you "gado" (cattle) in Brazil, for the amount of bullshit you produce.

The referendum was to decide if people wanted him to run again for president, he promised to respect the results. We voted. We said NO and he worked his way around to still run. Is that caring for that people want? Is that your definition of caring?
The counting was not stopped by the opposition, it was stopped by the TSE which is by no means an imparcial party anymore. They did this with no explanation to manipulate data, evidence has been presented if you want to look that up. Before they stopped counting Evo didn't have enough to win first round so no opposition was protesting. There were some disputes because they found unofficial cars carrying away the votes but that was not the reason they stopped it.
Our president is also a criminal, he himself ordered publicly to block the cities that are protesting peacefully in order for us to not be able to get food and supplies, that is unconstitutional. The president himself wants to starve us.
He sent his people with dynamite and sticks against unarmed people exercising their right to protest for democracy. Do you think that is the kind of person who should run a country?

The fact that you are born or live in Bolivia does not mean that you know something about that country, please study a little. I am not a Morales fan, but he is surely better of any candidate you are rooting for. Before Morales first election, Bolivia was South America's poorest nation. Fact with source, not bullshit
What has he exactly done against Bolivian people in all these years?
Bolivia's illiteracy rate was at 16%, the highest in South America. By 2009, UNESCO declared Bolivia free from illiteracy.
Morales' government sought to encourage a model of development based upon the premise of vivir bien, or "living well". This entailed seeking social harmony, consensus, the elimination of discrimination, and wealth redistribution.
Morales announced that one of the top priorities of his government was to eliminate racism against the country's indigenous population.
Morales' government also introduced measures to tackle Bolivia's endemic corruption; in 2007, he used a presidential decree to create the Ministry of Institutional Transparency and Fight Against Corruption.

We've grown, that's a fact. Does it gives him the right to stay in the power against the will of the people?
Yeah he talks against racism but he's always attacking my city. We are not the only ones on a civic strike but the only ones he has called out on media.
And that ministry, as well as every state institution, are run by who? He's people. Of course they will cover up all his shit, as well as they manipulated the votes, that is also an institution that works for the government, not for people anymore, it is not imparcial.

By the way, your answer has nothing to do with mine, I mentioned he say he will respect the referendum regarding his reelection answering your claim that he has the right to run for president. Where's an argument against that?
I asked you if you think that a person who prevent the people to get food and supplies is the kind a person who should run the country.
You're jus talking random stuff. I live here, I've seen and listened to him for years, I've heard people want him out, we voted years ago and we won but they don't give a fuck about democracy, I've lived all that. You just read fucking Wikipedia.

I do not agree with what he did about the referendum, but it is not accurate to say that he had promised to respect it. He did a bad thing that many politicians do, he made contradictory statements. However, I am sure that all the other candidates also make contradictory statements. Before the referendum he declared that he did not care about the result, then that he would respect it and then that he would continue the fight for the new mandate. We have 2 statements against the referendum and one in favor, obviously you choose the one that makes you more comfortable. I don't like any of them. The mandate limit is a stupid thing that does not guarantee "democracy", it is enough to see to better understand the world political families, the names change but the power is always divided among them.

same happens here in Italy, we also have the Vatican and the pope literally at 1km of distance from the government seats so they have a huge influence and they cover and finance each other.. I know the Polish situation too, I've been lots of times in the south-eastern regions (especially zamosc and lublin) =\ it really sucks

Probably you're watching wrong youtubers that exaggerate things, because things are pretty fine in Poland.

Except, that those who ruled before them, and now are the opposition, are so full of themselves, that they openly say, that anyone of different opinion and not willing to vote for them is, as you have kindly said, a moron :(

Because, yes, since the current governing party came to power for the first tine (just for 2 years) 14 years ago, not only their politician, but also all people supporting/voting for it suddenly became morons in the narrative of previously created "moral authorities".

And then they are surprised, that so many people do not want to vote for them, lol.
