i'm completely sorry for misleading you , you will be all caught up whit todays game requirements so $500 will build you one heck of a desktop... and thats not counting the $250 dollar dedicated sli graphics card

You do not need a SLI setup. A $150 middleclass graphics card is good enough for almost any game.

250 could net you a pair of 460s if you shop long enough. Certainly good enough to play any game on max settings on a single monitor.

Fair enough but even so paying $250 on just cards alone is still going to be costly computer .... which leads me to saying once again just buy her a Wii :DD you wont regret it

You can build a gaming pc that plays WoW and borderlands for ~$300. I know, because I just upgraded my girlfriends PC. ($250 for everything except power supply and case)

Don't get a Wii, I bought one when they came out and played it for a few hours and that's it.

He probably had max AA & AF, Ultra high in mind when he meant "decent". I've never seen the need for those, so yeah yours or even weaker PC is more than enough to run ANYTHING.

Your sarcasm seems to imply that I am saying minecraft is intensive or is some how a godly game. Fact of the matter is that Minecraft is in fact a game, one that many people play. Many people also play or played Farmvill. Doesnt mean its intensive, doesnt mean its even good just that it can be used to measure one's expectations. That is not to mean in any way that its a measure of a graphic's cards performance at all.

If all someone does is play facebook games or minecraft, then they most certainly do NOT need a 200 dollar graphics card. Not that the 550 is 200 dollars, but at this point I feel the need to explain everything.

This one looks good, tho change the processor/mobo to AMD and get a X4, would be about the same and it will have a better performance with the quad-core. :D
