Birthdays are not a particularly special day for me either. I don't know how it got that way really but it's not a bad thing at all. We can just as much appreciate all 364 other days of our lives because the special thing to me is that we're even alive to enjoy life. Happy early birthday Lugum!

Hearing you talk about your birthday being just a normal day to you really resonates with me because I feel the same way. :)
And as one of the greatest Pink Floyd songs would say:
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death
I hope at least this particular lap of the sun around you (heh) is a fun one -- and not one too short of breath. ;) Happy birthday!

Great song and i do always feel the lyrics when i hear it especially about missing the starting gun.
Like everyone got a job, family, friends and when you don't and you feel like noone told you when to run.
Also with the song War is over every year. So this is Christmas, And what have you done?,Another year over. And a new one just begun.
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught, or half a page of scribbled lines
Thanks.

Most bands write songs about love etc, and while some songs were obvious under drugs, they wrote about life (From The Wall, Have a Cigar and Mother (should i trust the government?) and in a performance by Waters he whispers No fucking way). And both Waters and Gilmour, made a great combination and a great band.
My dad and mine favorites were Hey you and Welcome to the machine.
And i like the lyrics from wish you were here (which reflects me knowing someone who i haven't seen for too long also year after year):
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground, what have we found?
The same old fears, wish you were here

Yeah, definitely understandable. I guess it sort of lacks that feeling of dread/void that Time evokes? Older feels more like a matter-of-fact call for reflection, while Time feels more like an "I already reflected and I'm in despair at what I found" sort of deal? At least that's how I'd interpret them when put side by side.

The more birthdays I have, the less I celebrate the individual ones - but I'm glad to have collected them all, so far. Happy birthday to you, Lugum.

One gift from a dear steam friend was this: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1307960/Quartet/ Some claim it to be the best rpg of this year, and it's very casual, no random encounters, no difficult grinding or bosses, 30-40+ hours, it's just chill enough.
The previous game Shadows of Adam https://store.steampowered.com/app/506510/Shadows_of_Adam/ i can also really recommend, it's similar but a bit shorter at 15 hours and less characters.
