If you middle-mouse click the giveaway, your browser can open it in a new tab. I go through the list, open new tabs for all the ones I want to enter, and then go through each tab and click enter. It's much faster than entering them one at a time.

I just enter giveaways with better odds. Groups and Privates help. My level of activity in both forums and just plain gifting gets me into the nice places.

"Steamgifts is awesome. However, it has a growth problem: the more people join, the longer it takes to win something (and please check my math on this!)"
Your idea sucks balls, and would just encourage more mindless leeching. Giveaway descriptions often contain things the creator wants you to know - perhaps even entry conditions which, if ignored, will result in a re-roll. You might even want to join in a discussion on the giveaway, or thank the creator.

It's more the fact that people want to be thanked for their generosity rather than people just going "Alright, check this box, and this and this and this and this, scroll to bottom, check enter, now time to leave this site!"
There are also other reasons such as blacklists that a user may be in, or as AtomicWoodchuck has said, entry rules such as thejadefalcon's recent giveaway where the entry condition was that you had to write a NSFW short story that included either sand, betrayal, or the United States Armed Forces before you entered or you'd be put into falcon's blacklist.
Also some publisher pack giveaways have certain entry conditions such as you can't even have a single game included in the pack to enter or you can have up to a certain amount of games within the pack. Some Skyrim LE giveaways have conditions where you can't have the base game to enter but some others allow you to enter it even if you have the base game.
If they take your suggestion, most people would probably never enter to read the giveaway notes and just enter it.

I've seen a pub giveaway where the user said that you can't have certain email addresses; probably because the addresses won't be able to receive the code on email.
But the fact about people giving publisher packs still stands of course, I've seen many pub giveaways where the gifter said something along the lines of "You can't have a single game within this pack to enter" or something like that. Might not have been approved by support though so I can't say anything about it if the entry rule was enforced or not.

I'm surprised at the level of laziness and lack of enthusiasm for interaction from people who describe the site as a "community".
I did read your post. I also noted that with a proportionately faster regeneration of points, you would find that you would be able to enter proportionately more giveaways in that same amount of time, so it all balances out.
If my hostility for this idea offends you, so be it, but since the gifter has spent perhaps an hour of their life working in order to earn the money to offer you the chance to win a game, my opinion is that the least you can do is take a few seconds of your time to click on the link, read what they have to say, and maybe even (Gaben forbid) thank them for their kindness.
I don't see how pandering to the laziness of a rump of indolent leechers is going to be of any benefit to the building and maintenance of a "community".
Anyway, following the path of logic, your solution is likely to make giveaways harder to win since, if your hypothesis is correct, some of the site's laziest and most worthless leechers are apparently finding the act of actually clicking on links an unsustainable drain on their precious time, and the act of actually reading anything an unsurmountable hurdle to their continued activity on the site. Your "solution" will open the floodgates to these folks, increasing entries, while leaving the creation of giveaways unaffected.

While some of the hostility is unnecessary, some of it seems justified. While your post can be interpreted as selfish and entitled (complaining about having to invest so much time for free games, which you were certainly never promised and don't seem to have done anything to deserve), you did also have some confusion over how certain aspects of the site work and people shouldn't be too harsh.
I think the main problem here is seeing the site as some kind of charity in the first place. Steamgifts is not a charity. In general, anyone who joins the site and obeys the rules has an equal chance of winning standard giveaways, and those who contribute to the community also gain access to giveaways with higher chances of winning. Some of the rules mean that more well-off users have a better chance to win (ie. someone who can afford to get more contributor value), while other rules provide a boost to the less fortunate (those who already own a game can't enter to win it again), but for the most part, Steamgifts ignores the circumstances of its users and gives out games to the lucky and deserving, and that's what makes it a great site.

If they all had 10 entries, there was a 73% chance of you "losing" all 3.
While it goes without saying that I extend to you my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies, I don't see this outcome as remotely unlucky... It was by far the most probable scenario.

yes, i always want to enter every giveaway until my points are empty, i just wanna WIN, i do not want to win stuff i will actually play.
You know, in the time you enter giveaways you could work -> ??? -> Profit

Opening a page in a new tab is too hard for you? GTFO.

There's no need to be rude, people. He's not a leech, and is just unsure of how the system works. Take a look at his profile. 41 entries in 2 years.
Simple point, Aerothorn. What you claim we need already exists. Just right click on the games you like, and open them in a new tab. Any of the latest browsers that allow for multiple tabs should work. You don't need to wait for one entry to expire before entering another giveaway. You can both enter, and give away a multiple number of games at a time (provided you still have sufficient points). The points regenerate over time.
It is quite simple to do this once you get a hang of it. If you enter games that many people want, then obviously your chances will decrease. It is a fair system though, and there isn't any point changing the system as it is basically a system entirely based on luck. My friend who has introduced me to this site hasn't won anything as yet and is annoyed that I have multiple times. Just how things work.
Keep at it :)

Thanks - I didn't realize you could enter multiple simultaneously, and I apprecaite the courtesy.
Honestly, I am shocked at the response I've gotten here - I thought I had found a friendly, charitable community, and 95% of the responses are hostile, trolling, or strawmen arguments.

Here is the thing. most of the people here are great. Even the ones in this topic. However, most of us heavily dislike users that consider the current method of entering to be too much work. You aren't the first to think so. We tend to dislike those bastards that are too lazy to even leech properly, and want even entering giveaways to be automated.
When they aren't offering anything to the site, they can at least click a few times to get their eventual free games.

Not a problem at all. Like people here have mentioned, they see quite a few posts like this that genuinely whine that they can't get enough free stuff quickly. It does get annoying when people take an entitled attitude. However, I can see that you've not understood the system and it is limiting your experience. This is indeed a wonderful community, and there aren't many places where people willingly share their games. I hope the clarification helps you enjoy this community more :)

I'm going to assume they tried to join at an earlier date, didn't pass the requirements, and only came back recently. The account here was created when they first tried, it just wasn't activated. It still counts as being made way back then.

Best to check the activity with the Stats page of a user.

I certainly wouldn't mind being able to automatically enter all giveaways of game x as long as I had the credits for it.
It could be limited to you only being able to automate entries for 1 game (via your settings) because you of course still want people to come here regularly :D. It would definitely be quite comfortable and help to avoid getting over the 300P limit.

"then you've actually invested a LOT of time for that free game."
What.

Steamgifts is awesome. However, it has a growth problem: the more people join, the longer it takes to win something (and please check my math on this!)
In terms of spending points, it balances out - more giveaways to enter, more giveaways created taht generate points.
However, any given giveaway will now have more people entered, meaning to win, I need to enter more giveaways.
The problem is: entering a giveaway involves loading two pages (and then going back). It takes time. This isn't a problem when the site's numbers are low, but when you need to enter 500 giveaways to win (on average, depending on number of entrants, etc.) then you've actually invested a LOT of time for that free game.
It seems like the ideal solution is the ability to enter multiple giveaways simultaneously (presumably via a checkbox system, but I'm no web designer). You would still pay the point cost for each one, so people wouldn't just checkbox/enter everything, but it would at least make it faster to enter the giveaways you want, assuming multiple appeared on a page.
