Ponyfags/'Bronies' are a new kind of troll - the kind of troll that is only there to garner haters so that they may successfully troll.

It's a ploy similar to most tripcode users on 4chan whom they may call tripfags. If you ignore them enough, it's possible many will go away, but it's only a guess. And even then, there'll always be people to give them attention - take OP for instance.

Any normal person would simply enjoy the show for what it is. It only became a phenomena after everyone started making a big deal of the group/cult following of it.
